Get creative with natural materials and learn how to make woodland-inspired crafts, pencils, beads and more.

🐞 Wings, Stings & Slimy Things! (20 August)
Grab a magnifier and bug pot and head out on a mini beast adventure to discover the amazing creatures living in the park.

Perfect for curious children who love exploring, creating and getting closer to nature.

Thank you to all our volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you 💚🌳

Behind every well-maintained path, newly planted tree, restored habitat, repaired bench and welcoming green space, there’s often a volunteer making it happen.

Across Kent Country Parks, our volunteers give their time in all weathers. They’ve helped plant trees, improve access routes, clear scrub, manage habitats, maintain play areas, process logs, support conservation projects, tackle invasive species and care for some of our most special places.

They work alongside our Ranger teams, bringing enthusiasm, knowledge, friendship and a shared passion for the outdoors. Whether it’s a muddy winter work party, a sunny day planting trees, or sharing stories around a campfire at the end of a task, their contribution makes a real difference.

This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to say a huge thank you to every volunteer across our parks. Your hard work helps protect wildlife, improve visitor experiences and ensure these special places can be enjoyed for generations to come.

If you’ve ever thought about getting outdoors, learning new skills, meeting like-minded people and giving something back to nature, we’d love to hear from you.

A very happy to the ever amazing Shorne Woods Country Park or SWAG for short! They have expertly investigated the archaeology of the park for TWENTY YEARS!! So this summer is also a very happy anniversary to them 🥳🥰🌳🏺🪏⛏️. 📸 JB.

It is national volunteer week! So we would like to say a very big thank you to our hard working volunteers. They help with a large range of tasks, including: fencing, path works, step repair, hedge works, conservation practices, invasive species control, log production, tree planting and general site maintenance. Their help is invaluable for helping us maintain the park and it's valuable habitats.
We also have our hard working archaeological volunteers who look after our volunteer garden.
