If you've been following my posts lately and quietly thinking...

💭 "That sounds like me."
💭 "I've been meaning to sort something out."
💭 "I really could do with a bit of help."

Then this is for you ✨

Over the past few weeks, I've talked about busy work days, puppy routines, owner guilt, finding balance, and how support isn't just about the walk itself - it's about the peace of mind that comes with it.

The truth is, most people don't reach out because they're in crisis.

They reach out because they're tired of carrying it all alone.

They're tired of rushing home.
Tired of feeling guilty.
Tired of trying to squeeze everything into an already busy day.

And often, all it takes is a little extra support to make life feel easier.

Whether that's an occasional ad-hoc walk, a puppy visit during the day, or a drop-in visit when life gets busy, sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference 💛

My regular weekly walk spaces are currently full, but I do have availability for drop-in visits, puppy visits and occasional ad-hoc walks in Northfleet.

So if you've been following along and thinking, "Maybe I should message..."

This is your sign to do it 🐶

Send me a message and let's have a chat about what support might look like for you and your dog 🩷

A few things I’ve been noticing this month...

If any of these sound familiar, you’re definitely not alone 💛

1️⃣ Some owners are noticing their dogs seem extra excitable on walks

With the warmer weather, longer days, changes to routine, and more people out and about, lots of dogs are arriving on walks already highly stimulated - pulling more, struggling to focus, or finding it harder to settle afterwards.

2️⃣ Owners feeling guilty on busy days
Some owners feel like they’re constantly trying to “make up” for being busy, working, or not having enough hours in the day.

3️⃣ Puppies struggling with consistency
Toilet training, routines, settling alone, over-tired zoomies… puppy owners often feel overwhelmed trying to get everything “right” all the time 🐶

None of these things mean you’re failing your dog.

Sometimes dogs (and owners) just need a little more support, structure or routine 🩷

Does any of this feel familiar? Message me to find out how I can help 🐾

What most of my clients are really looking for isn’t just “a dog walk” 🐕‍🦺

It’s the feeling of knowing their dog is happy, settled and cared for while juggling work, life and everything in between 💛

It’s heading into work without worrying.
It’s knowing somebody reliable is there when plans change.

It’s getting photos of a happy face halfway through the day.
It’s coming home to a dog who’s had company, routine, exercise and care 🐶

That’s the kind of support I want every client to feel with Paws and Play.

I offer: 🐕 Calm solo or small group walks
🏡 Drop-in visits for company, toilet breaks or feeding
🐶 Puppy home visits to help support routines, consistency and confidence

My regular weekly walk spaces are currently fully booked, but I do offer occasional ad-hoc walks, and have availability for drop-in visits and puppy visits around Northfleet 🩷

This kind of support works especially well for: ✨ Busy work days
✨ Puppies needing routine during the day
✨ Owners wanting trusted back-up support
✨ Dogs who thrive with calmer, more individual care

Because sometimes the biggest difference isn’t just the walk itself - it’s the peace of mind around it ❤️

🐾 Today is Dog Friendly Day! 🥳
Looking for something to do with your dog this weekend?

There are so many lovely walking spots and dog-friendly places in and around Northfleet & Gravesend - here are 3 of my favourites 💛

☕ Cookie & Crow Cafe

A cosy, family-run cafe on Milton Road, Gravesend - serving great coffee, sandwiches, treats for both humans and dogs. Doggie birthday parties also provided! 🥳

🌿 Northfleet Urban Country Park
(known locally as the Heath)

One of my favourite walking spots, 25 acres of open grassland and woodland paths - lots of space for sniffing & adventures 🐾

🍴 The Spring River,
Ebbsfleet/Swanscombe

A modern, dog-friendly pub/restaurant with a sunny beer garden - ideal for stopping off for food or a drink after a walk 🐕

One worry that stops people reaching out...

“I’m not sure my dog would settle with a dog walker.”

And honestly? I completely understand 🤍

For many owners, handing your dog over to somebody else can feel like a huge thing - especially if your dog is sensitive, anxious, excitable, or just very attached to you.

That’s why I never rush the process.
I always start with a meet & greet first, and many dogs begin with solo walks - so I can build trust, learn their personality and make sure they feel comfortable with me 🐶

I also send photos and little updates after walks and visits, because reassurance matters for owners too 🩷

And sometimes? Some dogs are happiest sticking with solo walks long-term - and that’s absolutely okay.

Most dogs settle far quicker than owners expect once trust and consistency are there ✨

⚠️ This is your sign to stop making things harder than they need to be 🐾

Many dog owners put huge pressure on themselves to do everything perfectly.

The perfect routine.
The perfect amount of walks.
Training.
Enrichment.
Socialising.
Mental stimulation.

Trying to juggle all of that alongside work, children, family life and everything else in-between can feel exhausting.

But your dog is not sitting there judging you.

They care that they feel safe.
They care that they feel loved.
They care that someone shows up for them consistently ❤️

That’s what matters most.

Getting support sometimes, is not “failing” your dog.
For many owners, it’s one of the most responsible things they can do.

When I first meet new clients, we talk through their dog’s routine, personality, training, little quirks and what support would genuinely help make life feel easier 🐶

Because my role isn’t just “walking dogs.”
It’s helping owners create a bit more balance, consistency and peace of mind too.

Sometimes a regular walk, puppy visit or drop-in can take so much pressure off - while still making sure your dog’s needs are being met 💛

So if you’ve been feeling guilty lately, this is your reminder:
You do not have to do everything alone.

What’s one thing you could make easier for yourself this week? 🐾

Too hot for walks ☀️🥵
Your dog still has energy to burn… but the pavement is basically lava! 🔥
The good news?
You don’t always need a long walk to keep your dog happy and content. Mental enrichment can work wonders too 💛

Sniff games, frozen treats, little training sessions and puzzle toys are all brilliant ways to keep dogs busy, calm and entertained while the temperatures are high🌡️

A tired mind = a happy dog ✨

On very hot days, the safest place for dogs is somewhere cool, shaded and indoors - not out power-walking in the heat🌡️

Save this post for the next heatwave ☀️🐾

Imagine your dog routine feeling lighter, calmer and less stressful 💛

You head into work, an appointment or a busy day… without spending hours worrying about your dog.

You’re not clock-watching. Not rushing home in panic. Not carrying that constant guilt that they’ve been left too long 🐶

Instead, you know they’ve had company, a walk, a toilet break or some calm attention during the day ✨
And when you get home?

They’re settled. Content. Happy to see you - but relaxed too.

That peace of mind is often the real reason owners look for support.

Not because they don’t care about their dog… but because they care so much 🩷

That’s exactly the kind of support I aim to provide through my walks, drop-ins and puppy visits.

Message me if this is the kind of support you’re working towards 🐾

‼️The walk isn't worth the risk‼️☀️

A dog has never died from missing a walk… but a dog can become seriously ill from being walked in the heat🌡️

For that reason, all walks today are cancelled.

This is never a decision I enjoy making, but even early morning temperatures are too warm, and the welfare of the dogs in my care will always come first 💛

I’ll continue checking the forecasts for the rest of the week and will keep clients updated.

What I’d do if my dog...

still seemed restless after walks 🐕

Many people assume the answer is simply:
“Do a longer walk.”

But that’s not always what dogs need 💛

If this was my dog, here’s where I’d start:
🌿 Slow the walk down a little
Less rushing. A bit more sniffing. More time to properly explore and decompress.

🐕‍🦺 Look at the type of walk, not just the length.
Some dogs come home far more settled after a calm, walk than an overly busy or overstimulating one.

😌 Make sure they’re getting enough rest too.
Dogs need downtime as well as activity, and constantly trying to “wear them out” can sometimes have the opposite effect.

It’s also important to pay attention to how a dog seems after the walk too, not just during it.
Often, calmer and more balanced routines help dogs feel much more settled overall ✨

Save this if this sounds familiar 🐾

⚠️ Obviously, no walks in the heat! ☀️
