🐺Predator Experience was awarded runner up at the Northwest Small Business Awards, in the category of 'Micro Business Award' 2026. It was the first year of the Northwest Small Business Awards with the aim to celebrate the best of small businesses, championing their role in the economy. The awards which were sponsored by HSBC and The federation of Small Businesses (FSB), attracted 2800 high quality entries for five categories.

The Micro Business Award was presented for businesses that punch well above their weight, in terms of resources to success.

The awards dinner was held at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.

Predator Experience located at Predator Park in Ayside, Cumbria, is the National resource and experience centre for the conservation awareness of natural predators. Teaching the role of apex species in eco structures, and championing co-existence and rewilding through their educational Walking with Wolves experience.

Predator Experience co-founders Dee and Daniel Ashman stated that they were very proud to have been recognised for this new, prestigious award and are looking forward to a bright future. The recognition helps to elevate the companies profile and in turn assists with it’s conservation awareness and its ethics of being role models for high standards of animal welfare, as well as promoting the company as a world class visitor attraction, with strong benefits to the local economy.

In native American culture, the wolf is known as 'a spirit' animal, 'the teacher'.


Wolves have complex social structures and communications, reading our body language as much as they read their own, but in slightly different ways. When greeting a wolf, soft eye contact rather than a stare, and a low body stance is favoured. These signals are interpreted as less imposing or threatening to wolves.
