A Sad Update.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for every share, message, offer of help and support for beautiful Arthur 🖤
A very special kitty hero, Bob, went along to the hospital early this morning in the hope he could help save Arthur’s life. Sadly, despite everyone’s efforts, he also wasn’t a suitable match.
Unfortunately this meant it was Arthur’s time.
Sleep well beautiful boy. You were, and always will be, so deeply loved 🐾
And thank you again to every single person who rallied around Arthur and his family. The kindness shown over the last 24 hours has been truly overwhelming.
…………
We are reaching out this evening with an incredibly urgent plea to help save the life of a beautiful cat named Arthur, who is currently very unwell and receiving treatment at the Hospital for Small Animals in Roslin.
Earlier today, I rushed one of my own cats through as a potential donor. Whilst he was the correct blood type, unfortunately the antibodies present meant he sadly wasn’t a suitable match for Arthur.
Time is now incredibly precious and we are desperately trying to find Arthur his very own kitty superhero. 🖤
The hospital have advised the following criteria for potential donor cats:
• Between 1 and 8 years old
• Weigh at least 4.5kg
• Have a calm temperament
• Be fully vaccinated (but not within the last week)
• Be free of underlying health conditions
• Have never previously received a blood transfusion
• Ideally be up to date with flea and worm treatment (although if slightly overdue this may still be considered on a case-by-case basis)
Donor cats receive a free health screening and a bag of food from the hospital.
If you think your cat may be suitable, please contact us and we’ll give you Arthur’s lovely owner, Annabelle’s details to get in touch.
Please also note that you would need to be able to get your cat to the Hospital for Small Animals early tomorrow morning. They will be tested for suitability at no charge to you whatsoever and Arthur’s owner is willing to cover travel costs or possibly provide a lift there.
We know this is a huge ask, but if one wonderful cat can help save another’s life, it would mean absolutely everything to Arthur and his family.
Thank you so much for reading and for always being such a compassionate community.
