I’m calling it… I think this might be my BEST doodle groom yet 😭✂️🧸

The little teddy face. The ears. Those legs! The waggy tail! 🤌✨

And I have to give some credit to my new scissors because they have genuinely made SUCH a difference to my finishing work ✂️😍

You know when you finish a groom, stand back and think… yep. THAT’S the one. 😂🌸

I’m absolutely obsessed with how this little one turned out.

Doodle owners… what do we think?! 👀

Well… this wasn’t quite the launch I had planned. 💔🌸

I was SO excited to finally get my new Full Bloom Grooming signage up on the window in Gomshall.

Its cost over £100 to have it designed and professionally printed, spent ages getting everything just right, and honestly felt so proud seeing my little business finally visible from the road. 🥹

Less than 12 hours later… it had been ripped down and stolen.

I’m absolutely gutted.

I’ll probably never know why someone felt the need to do it. Whether it was mindless vandalism, someone taking a dislike to it, or something else entirely — when you’re a tiny one-woman business trying your hardest to grow, things like this really do sting.

It has been reported to the police and I’ve posted locally in case anyone happened to see anything.

BUT… I’m determined to turn something horrible into something positive. 🌸

They might have taken my sign down…

but maybe we can get it seen by even MORE people now. 😉

So I’m asking for a little bit of community magic. ❤️

If you’re local, have used Full Bloom Grooming, follow my page, love seeing my little doggy transformations — or simply want to support a small village business — please SHARE this post.

Let’s see how far we can make my stolen sign travel. 😂🌸

And if just one new person discovers my little salon because of this, then whoever ripped it down has accidentally done some marketing for me after all. 🤭

DOODLE owners 🌾👀 It’s not just grass seeds causing problems right now…

With all this hot weather and so little rain, the grass is absolutely scorched, dry and brittle — and I am finding it EVERYWHERE in dogs coats.

Between paw pads, tangled around feet, in armpits and legs and even matted into those lovely fluffy ears. 😩

And because it’s so dry and crispy, once it gets caught in a fluffy coat it can tangle incredibly quickly.

I’m seeing dog after dog coming in at the moment with far more matting than usual — some needing areas completely clipped off, including ears, because once that debris has tangled tightly into the coat, sometimes clipping is the only comfortable option.

Not just doodles! 👀😂 but this goes for ALL fluffy dogs.

After walks, have a really good check through:
🐾 Between the paw pads
🌾 Feet & legs
👂 Behind and underneath the ears
🐶 Tummy, armpits and that happy waggy tail
🌿 Anywhere with longer fluffy furnishings

A 2-minute check when you get home could save a LOT of coat at the next groom!

Summer grass is currently the enemy of fluffy dogs. 😂🌾

Yep… I reached for the salon products. 😂🙈

They’re professional-quality grooming products made with lovely ingredients and honestly… the finishing spray is AMAZING on my hair extensions. 😂✨

Please tell me I’m not the only groomer who’s done this! 🤣 What are your guilty grooming confessions? 👀👇

⚠️ Disclaimer before anyone comes for me… I’m not telling everyone to use pet products on themselves. This is just me being me… and yes, my hair was silky soft and super shiny afterwards! 😂

🚨 Your slicker brush might be lying to you…

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see with doodles.

A slicker brush can make the coat look beautifully brushed on the surface. It fluffs everything up, removes loose hair and gives that lovely teddy bear look…

But that doesn’t always mean the coat is knot free.

The real test?

👉 A comb 🪮

If a comb can’t glide all the way from the skin to the ends of the coat, there are still tangles hiding underneath.

Those tiny knots don’t stay tiny for long.

Every walk, every nap, every harness, every splash in the paddling pool… they tighten together until your dog’s coat becomes matted.

By the time I see it in the salon, owners often tell me:
“But I brush them every day!”

And I believe them.

The problem isn’t usually how often you’re brushing…
It’s how you’re brushing.

Think of the slicker brush as loosening the coat…

The comb is what checks you’ve actually finished the job.

✨ My advice?

Brush a small section with your slicker.

Then immediately follow with a comb.

If the comb catches, go back with the slicker before moving on.

Your doodle will stay more comfortable, your grooming appointments will be easier, and you’ll avoid those unexpected matting fees.

Save this for your next brushing session… your doodle will thank you. 🐾💕

🌺 ALOHA, Peach! 🌺

Possibly the cutest, littlest dog in the entire world… and apparently she was hiding another whole Peach inside that tiny coat 😂🧡

Peach came in with lots of blown undercoat tangled around her longer guard hairs. After a huge de-shed treatment, an unbelievable amount of loose, dead coat came away — leaving her coat lighter, airier and beautifully fluffy again ✨

And with another heatwave on the way, the timing couldn’t have been better ☀️
Removing all that trapped, compacted undercoat allows the healthy coat to function as it should and helps air circulate more freely 🌿

She may have left half of herself on my grooming table… but look at that tiny tropical princess 😭🌺🍹

ALOHA, Peach! Welcome to Full Bloom’s summer paradise 🌴✨

POV: Your spa day comes with complimentary cocktails. 🍹😂 Summer isn’t just about looking cute for holiday photos (although that’s definitely a bonus 😉)

A regular summer groom can help your dog by:
☀️ Removing excess coat and dead hair.
🌿 Preventing painful matting that traps heat and moisture.
💨 Allowing air to circulate through the coat more easily.
🦴 Making it easier to spot grass seeds, ticks or skin irritation.
🛁 Keeping them feeling fresh after all those muddy walks, beach trips and garden adventures.

It’s worth remembering that not every dog should be clipped short. Double-coated breeds, in particular, need the right grooming rather than simply having all their coat removed. Every groom is tailored to the individual dog’s coat type, lifestyle and what will keep them happiest and most comfortable.

July is filling up quickly, and I now have limited appointments remaining before the school holidays. If your pup is due a summer spruce-up, I’d recommend getting them booked in sooner rather than later.

Every spa guest receives a tropical photo before heading home… because good hair deserves a photoshoot. 🌺📸

You’d never know from the first photo… ❤️➡️

I went back and forth about whether to post this.

Part of me wanted to keep it private. The other part felt like I’d be hiding a huge part of who I am if I only ever showed the polished version of my life.

This is the reality of living with rheumatoid arthritis.

Some mornings I wake up and my fingers look like little sausages. They’re swollen, stiff and painful. It’s an invisible disability, which means most people would never know unless I told them.

The truth is, this condition has shaped me in more ways than people realise. It’s taught me patience, empathy and to really appreciate the good days. It has also influenced the way I groom. I understand how important gentle handling, comfort and taking your time can be.

The dogs don’t know I have rheumatoid arthritis. They just know they’re safe, loved and always rewarded with a treat. 🐾

Thankfully, I’m very good at managing my condition, and after some rest and the right medication, I’ll be back doing what I love on Monday.

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because invisible disabilities deserve to be seen too, and because I want this page to reflect the real me—not just the highlight reel.

If you live with an invisible illness too, you’re not alone. 💛
