🚿✨ No gatekeeping here…
One of my favourite tools for speeding up drying time on certain coats is actually a wet vacuum!
For some double-coated and long-coated breeds, I use a specialist wet vac attachment to remove excess water from the coat after bathing. It can dramatically reduce drying time, which means:
🐾 Less time standing on the grooming table
🐾 Less time exposed to warm air dryers
🐾 A more comfortable experience for many dogs
🐾 No mountains of soggy towels to wash afterwards!
Before anyone panics, it’s not a standard household vacuum attachment stuck on a dog! 🤣 I use a specialist grooming attachment designed for this purpose.
Not every dog is suitable for it, though. I always assess each dog individually and introduce equipment carefully. Some dogs are completely unfazed by it, while others prefer traditional towel drying and dryer work instead.
I was actually taught this technique during my grooming training, and years later it’s still one of my favourite little time-saving tricks for the right coat types.
The goal is always the same: getting your dog clean, dry and comfortable as efficiently and safely as possible. ❤️
Have you ever seen a groomer use one before? 👀 Kärcher
