RSPCA Isle of Wight

RSPCA Isle of Wight We are an independently registered charity, supporting the work of the RSPCA at a local level.

Our Island Animal Centre supports the Island's most vulnerable animals. The Isle of Wight Branch of the RSPCA is an independent charity operating under the rules and conditions of the nationally recognised RSPCA. We are entirely funded by the generosity of the local community and all monies raised on the Island are solely for the benefit of Island animals. We house, care for and rehome a great div

ersity of domestic animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds and other small animals. We also care for sick and injured wildlife with the full intention of getting these animals fit to be released back to the wild. We firmly believe that every animal in our care deserves a chance in life and it is our policy to never put down an animal unless advised to do so for medical or safety reasons. If you have any queries about rehoming or adopting an animal or need any advice about general animal care, please do not hesitate to contact the Branch on 01983 840287. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT THE WELFARE OF AN ANIMAL OR FIND A SICK OR INJURED WILD ANIMAL, PLEASE RING THE CRUELTY LINE ON: 0300 1234 999

We've got two very lucky kittens who were found by Adam and his team at ADL Scaffolding

These two kittens were found on the roof of the former Ponda Rosa Pub. Their mum is believed to have been a stray and it's suspected she had given birth to the kittens on the roof. They were found right before the stormy weather hit! 😓

There are ongoing efforts to trap and rescue their mum.

These two babies, named Ponda and Rosa, are frightened so it would be good to get them socialised in a home environment. We are looking for foster parents or foster to adopt parents. We'd like to keep them together. They could go with children age 12+. 😇

The foster parents will need to be able to attend regular checkups (Tuesday mornings) and their future neuter appointment.

If you are interested in fostering please contact [email protected]

If you would like to support the rescue and care of strays and unexpected litters - please donate what you can. These vital funds allow us to help as many animals as possible.

✨ Fresh Face Friday ✨

Meet Calcifer and Frank, two lovely boys who are approximately 2 years old and looking for a special retirement home where they can enjoy plenty of love, comfort, and treats. 😇

These sweet gentlemen have gentle personalities and tolerate handling well, making them a pleasure to spend time with. They enjoy a relaxed lifestyle and can often be found snuggled up together in their favourite hammocks, enjoying a cosy nap. 🥰

Like most rats, they are very food-motivated and absolutely love being spoiled with their favourite treats. Whether it's snack time or cuddle time, Calcifer and Frank are happy to share their days with people who will give them the care and affection they deserve. 😍

If you feel you can give Calcifer and Frank their forever home - please fill out an online application.

✨ Adoption Success ✨

We've had some wonderful success stories from a number of smalls that have found their forever homes recently! 😇

The Gallagher trio were found neglected with their sisters and mum. Their family were adopted pretty quickly but these boys were waiting for the right home with plenty of space! We're pleased to say, after 8 months in care, they have found the best home! 😍

Guinea pig duo Woody and Buzz have found their forever home - their new family said 'We are so happy to have them as part of our family, and we wanted to thank you again for all the care you gave them before they came to us. It’s lovely to see them becoming more comfortable and showing their personalities.' 🙏🏼

And brother and sister, Bonnie and Clyde, had been with us for 82 days and have now found their forever home together! 🥰

Thank you to all our new adopters for choosing to adopt and giving their new family members the love and care they deserve! ❤️

You might have seen some of the amazing fox cub rescues Friends of the Animals have made recently!

Penny was rescued from a drain after a huge 6 hour rescue effort. She is now in our care - she was initially shut down, rightly so after her adventure! She has now perked up and already causing trouble in her rehabilitation unit 😂

Little Dave was found struggling in a pond. We're pleased to say he is a bright cheeky lad again causing mayhem in his rehabilitation unit. 🤣

Both will be with us whilst they go through a course of medication and put on some healthy weight. 🥰

Once they are ready they will be released back into the wild!

We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in both of their rescues - the members of the public, Friends of the Animals, Southern Water, The Carisbrooke Vets , The People's Vet We have a wonderful community! 🙏🏼
