The day is here. The time has come. Yes that's right, it's time to announce the winners of The Great SniffieSnootz Christmas Dress-Up Competition 2025!!!! The dogs really gave their all this year and brought the magic, with some truly inspired creations. But there must be a winner, and edging ahead of the votes this year were Luna and Napoleon 👏 I have a sneaking suspicion that what brought them the crown was Napoleon's thoroughly unimpressed expression- giving a voice to dogs at Christmas everywhere being forced to dress up for the entertainment of their humans 🤣🤣👌Napoleon, you have done the dog community a solid. Treats will be winging their way to you soon you legends! Merry Christmas everyone!

For the best General Manager we will ever have.🖤

I've been wanting to write a tribute post for Etta ever since she died. But I've been struggling to know where to start, wondering how words can ever begin to do her justice. This dog was a saint. She came into my life when I was broken and lost and she somehow ended up becoming a part of me that is so profound that I feel like I've lost a body part. To say she supported me emotionally is really an understatement- she was more of an emotional support chameleon, shifting from a mother figure, to a sister, to a nanny dog and a best friend. She got me through 2 babies, 2 toddlerhoods, a pandemic, a degree, 1.5 evictions, bereavements, a whole load of other things that are too personal to put on social media. An armpit cuddle, a gentle moo or a soft nasal exhale from her and I would know things will be alright. She had poise, elegance, grace, fierceness, stubbornness, wisdom, patience, stamina, determination, pride. She taught us all so well. And she had such a presence- on group walks she would merely have to look at another dog for them to fall into line. You just did not f**k with Auntie Etta. And i want you all to know that she didn't lose her battle with cancer. Cancer didn't win. She would have fought until the bitter end if I had let her- she would literally have fought to the death because that's the kind of grit and strength she had. But the last gift i could give her was mercy 💔 To the best dog I could ever have dreamt of raising my babies alongside. You did good beautiful. We will never forget you 🖤

Drumroll please.....yes that's right, we have a winner, and it's SniffieSnootz' very own Auntie Etta!! Who could deny that beautiful face 😍 As some of you know Etta has been fighting an aggressive form of cancer and has been an absolute little warrior so I couldn't be more proud that she has won this most prestigious award this year, which will most likely be her last with us 💔 So please be upstanding for our new reigning champion? Miss Etta Wood 🏆👏

Yes that's right everyone, it's the time of year you've all been waiting for 🤩 As some of you already know, I've been taken out of action the last couple of weeks due to surgery on my foot (you kinda need those for dog walking), so sadly we couldn't run our dress-up competitionin in the way it's usually done 🙁But thankfully, due to the wonders of the internet, we have been able to run it virtually 😃 So, without further ado, I give you this year's contestants- click a like on your favourite to vote, the dog with most votes will be crowned winner on Christmas day. Today I took a very special client off my books. The one and only Sir Sassy is roaching off into retirement having been a firm fixture here for nearly as long as the business has been running. One of my first clients, you came with full disclosure that you were not good with other dogs and could only be a solo walk. So off we went, come rain or shine, beating a well worn path around the block, and we came to an understanding, you and I. You trusted me to only expose you to the things you were ready for and in return you were a studious, curious little learner- not one who didn't have a few fireworks up his sleeve by any means, but you watched, learned and trusted. And so it eventually was that we went from solos, to doubles, to trios and all the way up to the dizzy heights of pack walks! You went from trying to lunge across the road if you saw any dog on the other side, to being Uncle Sassy Pants, wise old owl whose best friend was once a pomeranian 😱 I feel like we've been through the wars together, and I want to thank you for being such a loyal ally and friend. I will miss your companionship, your teeth chatters, your windmill tail, your cheesy grin, your squirrel shreiks, your fussy breakfast-in-bed demands and post-walk photos from your mum showing you looking completely off your head 😆. Off you go now to slide into your retirement, flat on your back with legs akimbo, tongue lolling to one side. Etta is always up for an OAP bumble around that same block. That'll do for now mate, that'll do 🖤
