May was one of my busiest months, but unfortunately it also had my highest number of last-minute cancellations and no-shows to date.
I completely understand that life happens. Children get sick, work runs late, emergencies arise, and sometimes things are simply forgotten. Weβve all been there.
What many people donβt see is that when an appointment is cancelled at the last minute or a client doesnβt show up, that time is almost impossible to refill. As a small business owner, that appointment time is my income, and once itβs gone, itβs gone.
My cancellation policy isnβt there to be difficult or unkind. Itβs there to protect my business, my livelihood, and the time Iβve reserved specifically for your dog.
Something else I want to address is the way these situations are sometimes handled.
I will always do my best to be understanding, professional, and respectful. In return, I expect the same courtesy. I will not tolerate rude, aggressive, or abusive behaviour when discussing appointments, cancellations, fees, or policies.
Running a small business can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be challenging. Every appointment, every client, and every dog I groom helps support my family and keeps my business running.
Thank you to every client who respects my time, understands my policies, and continues to support my small business. Your loyalty and kindness never go unnoticed. β€οΈ
