π Today, 22nd July, Dog Trotters turns 22! π₯³
The last 22 years have flown by in a joyful blur of sunshine, rain, mud, dog hair and thousands of happy dogs. Words can't describe how much I cherish this job. There have been challenges along the way, but they've been far outweighed by the privilege of spending my days in stunning countryside with the incredible dogs I've been blessed to walk over the years.
I've been lucky enough to share the journey with my two incredible co-pilots: Rhys, my Border Collie who sadly passed away in 2017 at the grand old age of 18, and now Wilson, my precious seven-year-old Welsh Sheepdog β€οΈ
I've had multiple amazing people work for me over the years, who have given me incredible support and without whom I would never have been able to grow Dog Trotters - particular thanks to Artimus Maximus, Tom Leader, Ben Dobson and Jenny Lake who, although no longer working with Dog Trotters, will always remain close friends after years of working together as a team. I'm now blessed to work closely with Jess Twitch and Rose Fairhurst; together, we continue to provide the dogs of Godalming with countryside adventures every day πΏ A huge thanks as well to Jo Jazeel who was integral to the birth of my Dog Trotters after giving me work experience, and my very first clients in 2004 when I was a fresh-faced 20-year-old having just completed my Animal Care course at Merrist Wood all those years ago β¨
Over the years I've owned eight Dog Trotters vans, from a plain white Vauxhall Combo to Vinnie, my current Mercedes Vito in his unmistakable Dalmatian spots. And, according to my rough calculations, we've now completed well over 110,000 dog walks πΎ
To every client who has trusted me with their dogs, and to everyone who's been part of the Dog Trotters journey over the last 22 years ... thank you. Dog Trotters wouldn't be what it is without you. Here's to the next 22 years of adventures in the Surrey Hills π₯°
