One year ago today! Little did I know that this was the first of not one, not two, but FIVE breakdowns over the course of three months which resulted in me making the difficult decision to say goodbye to Pedro, my dear VW Caddy and upgrading to Vinnie, my gorgeous Mercedes Vito.
Van breakdowns are the bane of all dog walkers livelihoods - our clients rely on us, and we rely on our vans. Unfortunately we also seriously put our vehicles through their paces; stop-and-start journeys picking up and dropping off dogs, high mileage, rough terrain and driving in extreme weather all have a huge impact.
2025 was an incredibly stressful year for me, and the patience and understanding my clients afforded me kept me going throughout the breakdowns, time off, various trips to the garage and the thousands of pounds spent on various mechanics.
I wanted to repost this just to give a shout-out to all my loyal clients who supported me throughout 2025; every dog walker who's ever dealt with a van breakdown (ie, every single one of us) and Neil from LHRecovery who rescued me multiple times throughout last year (usually when I was crying/exhausted/in despair) and is now a firm friend.
Here's to a long and stress-free relationship with Vinnie, the most important man in my life aside from Wilson
