Chicken and I have something exciting to share 🥹🐾

Our very first little collection of whimsical dog art is officially live✨ EEEK!!! 🥳

As someone whose home is basically postcards, cut outs and birthday cards as wallpaper, silly drawings all over the place and weird trinkets everywhere, this feels so exciting!!

Everything was illustrated by me and inspired by doggos we love, absolute silliness, meme love, and a lil bit of Chickens sass ofc 💁‍♀️

The first lil collection currently includes:

🍷 “Long Live Girls Who Yap”
💅 “The Horrors Persist But So Do Hot Girls”
🎂 plus our first silly greeting card: “Have a GREY-T Birthday!”

A moment for my gorgeous lady in her Bunanas in this crazy spring weather! 🌞🐰🍌

It’s 1000% classic British I’ll wear 5 layers but remove / add them frequently during walkies weather for us hoomans, and Chickens still in and out of suits! This weekend is supposed to be warming up and we’re definitely excited! 🥳

Happy Mum & Me Monday from me & Chicken everyone! 🐶🥰

As someone whose entire decorating style is basically “cover the house in postcards, doodles and prints this is something very exciting for meeee! 👀

I’m still spending a lot of time resting at the moment, but I recently had such a lovely early birthday day (actual one Tuesday!) surrounded by some wonderful new friends, and it honestly reminded me how important it is to keep making and doing silly little thingies make you happy🫶🏼

So I’ve been getting back into drawing again recently too, with Chicken overseeing of course! 🐾

Our first Poochie Keen greeting cards are coming soon 👀
…and art prints may have joined the chaos too! They’re both quite different in style but all sassy, silly, whimsy and weird 😂

I’m so grateful for doggos and drawing right now and really really hope everyone likes them! This is my first time ordering prints of my art so wish us luck! 🥳

Hi hoomans! 🐾

After working and attending some wonderful pup events recently, I’ve realised us dog owners all share one thing: we absolutely LOVE discussing our babies and our favourite products 😂

I’m talking anything from our seemingly universally loved floofy donut beds all the way to meeega silly tricks or tips (do you wear the peanut butter hat when nail trimming? 👀🥜)

I usually find the best bits and bobs from others rather than ads, so I have decided while Poochie and myself are a bit quieter, I want to make the ultimate dog recommendations blog post full of real favourites from real people and dogs!🐶

For example:

Hello! Been a little quieter recently as planned while I’ve been taking some proper time to reset, hopefully heal a bit, and of course… draw silly little dogs, here ones one called Keith 🤭✏️

BUT! I’m very excited because I’ll be working at the Big Bark again this year, tomorrow at Lydiard Park 🐾

If you’re a dog person it’s always such a good day out. There’s agility, hoopers, flyball, scent work and many more interactive activities, shopping stalls, live displays, fun doggo shows, food, chill and puppy zones, photo areas and most importantly: dogs!

I’ll be at the obstacle course again this year, cheering every pup on like I was born to do so, so PLEASE come say hi if you’re going 🐕🥰

P.s For fellow stroudy locals, the Slad Valley Weekend is on with music, crafts, food, woodland walks, rescued owls and all sorts of wholesome outdoors fun happening around Sladebank Woods 🦉🌱

And of course the Heavens Valley Community Picnic, which Chicken and I can’t wait to attend ☀️

So yes, in terms of a tiny life update:
currently healing via walkies and sniffer dog training with my best friend, drawing, lots of anime (highly recommend Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga and Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill! hehe), seeing some friends again and playing wingspan with my wonderful, kind and supportive partner 🫶

A couple of you suggested sharing this with the guide first, so here we go! 🥰

Be honest dog parents… have you ever stood outside and thought: “it doesn’t feel that hot”☀️🐾
but then second guessed whether to walk your dog anyway?

Good!! because here’s the thing…
it’s not just about the temperature:
🌞 humidity
🐾 pavement heat
🐶 how your dog actually cools down
all play a part, too!

When I was a dog walker I learnt all I could about dogs and how they handle warmer weather, it’s important to remember when you add exercise into the mix on a hotter day, a “normal” walk can be enough to cause overheating, heatstroke doesn’t always happen on obvious heatwave days!

So, if you’re ever unsure:
💛 check the pavement
✨ consider the humidity
💛 go earlier or later
✨ or skip the walk altogether
Missing one walk won’t hurt your dog, heatstroke will.
