Planted our first trees back in 2008, we are a small family run farm by husband and wife team.
Our trees are grown near the Gloucestershire, Herefordshire border with a set of environmental principles at our core to provide a fresh healthy tree grown in harmony with nature, we want choosing your tree to be the start of your family Christmas build up. Trees available from our small holding: open everyday 9-5:30 from 25th November
We may have been quiet for the last few months on social media but we have been busy behind the scenes - mainly hoping and praying for rain 🌧️! The trees have coped remarkably well, the grassland for the sheep and donkeys less so. It’s been a very challenging year weather wise but as the nights draw in we are hoping for more of the rain we have seen over the last couple of days. The trees had a very short growing season this year and we have been busy shaping them before their branches harden for the winter. Lots of ladybirds in the trees and even a couple of wasps nests nestled in the lower branches of a few trees.

Friday feeling walking though the trees in the sunshine! Older trees are coping well with the dry weather so far! Bud burst and the vibrant green new growth looking so good!

We have been quite over the last few months but still very busy, lambs are all out enjoying the sunshine ☀️ and a little before and after getting ready for planting in Autumn.

We have been getting on with some winter hair cuts on the trees! Still plenty to go but essential to carry out before the spring to help maintain the shape needed ti be chosen 🎄

Just like that the 2024 season is over, we have absolutely loved catching up with all of you, both returning and new Christmas tree Hunters. It has been a little challenging this year with two named storms, flooding, some snow, plenty of rain and some disappearing road signs. To wake up this morning to a lovely thank you message from a very last minute tree request yesterday is what it is all about. A massive thank you for your continued support and helping us to improve and to keep being a small part of your Christmas traditions, we really appreciate it. Without the support and work from family and friends who have helped all through the last month, it would not be possible, it’s hard work but is definitely fun! Merry Christmas from our family to yours ❤️

As children the choosing of the tree was always the start of Christmas traditions for us and we aim to provide that same magical experience. We have been growing Christmas trees for over a decade and in 2012, we established a new plantation on the beautiful Gloucestershire/ Herefordshire border. Our plantation is established with a set of principles to ensure ecological sustainability through planting and harvesting in an eight year long cycle, which enables us to constantly produce a quality tree.
Recently we have planted trees at Prestbury Farm which will provide a festive walk in a few years to come.
We are a family run business with all members of the family helping over the busy periods, when we first started we offered all customers a free homemade mince pie, and every year since everyone who comes to visit us will be offered our now infamous mince pies!
Given the need for environmental sustainability we have made every effort through the life cycle of the tree to enhance our management and provide different habitats for a range of wildlife, we even have orchids in our plantation.
All management of the trees is either carried by hand such as planting and pruning or with hand held machines such as mowers. Every year we plant twice the number of trees compared to what we harvest.
At the Natural Christmas Tree Co we are obsessed with Christmas and Christmas trees, we never stop thinking of ways to improve and have changed how we prune and shape our trees to provide a full range from full wide and bushy trees to thinner trees that fit well in a modern family home.
Our plantation includes a range of three different species, low drop Nordmann Fir, Traditional Norway Spruce and the striking Blue Spruce.
