I can’t quite believe that it has been two whole years of Ruff Mutts & Co!

In the past year I have stepped back a bit with walks and continued with mainly sits - but also been joined by Jess who is absolute god send to work alongside (who offers week day walks) - as those of you who have met her will agree!

I honestly believe if Jess hadn’t joined me on this journey it would of all got a little bit too much!

I never thought two years down the line i would of personally made such close friendships with many of you, laughed and cried with you over your fur babies and really and truly been as lucky as I am to still be thriving and taking on new clients when I do have the rare availability!

You may have noticed content is a little few and far between as of lately, life blooooody life’s and sometimes juggling a full time job and this can be tough (not that I would have it any other way!!)

Honestly, from the bottom of mine and Jess’ hearts, we cannot thank you enough for putting your trust in us and hopefully there will be exciting things to come in the future!

🐶 General Care
• Never leave dogs in a parked car – even with windows open, temperatures rise dangerously fast.
• Provide constant access to fresh water – dehydration can happen quickly.
• Ensure shaded areas – give your dog a place to cool down if outside.
• Avoid mid-day walks – stick to early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.
• Use cooling mats or damp towels – helps regulate their body temperature.
• Consider a paddling pool – for fun and cooling off.

🐾 Exercise & Walks
• Check the pavement temperature – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
• Shorten walk times – keep walks brief and slow-paced.
• Bring water on walks – collapsible bowls or dog water bottles are handy.

⚠️ Watch for Heatstroke

Signs of heatstroke in dogs include:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Red or pale gums
• Collapse or confusion
