At the end of a chicken's life on-farm, most are grabbed by the legs and carried upside down before being crated and transported to a slaughterhouse. In addition to the pain and discomfort this causes to their legs, due to their anatomy, it can make them feel like they're suffocating.
Today, we're standing with The Animal Law Foundation in the Royal Courts of Justice, providing our scientific expertise to show that this is inhumane and that legislation was changed unlawfully to allow it. Only alternatives such as upright catching should be used, and we hope the Courts will see sense.
