**Star Pet of the month**
We are pleased to announce that our star pet for November 2025 is...Smudge Smith 🎊🐱
Smudge visited us on 7th November with symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy, incontinence and blood in urine. He was so poorly that he stayed with us for testing and we gave him antibiotics and Metcam. The next day, he seemed a little brighter but not at all interested in his surroundings. By the end of the day, there was no real improvement. For the next few days, we kept a close on him giving him more meds and trying him with food. It wasn't until the 10th November that we started to see some improvement. Smudge had eaten all of his food, he was enjoying a lot of fuss and skin and coat looked much healthier. He is home now but we are still monitoring and blood testing.
Vet Beth said " he was so poorly, barely moving, it was lovely to see a happy purring boy. Vet Tim called Smudge "an absolute champ" and Nurse Charlotte said "he definitely stole hers and all the nurses hearts. Popular boy 😍🐱🎊

**Star Pet of the Month**
We are pleased to announce that our star pet for October 2025 is Nellie Maloney 🎊🎊
5 month old Nellie came to see us with a sore eye. She had unfortunately caught her eye on a hook. The eye was swollen and we could see a little rip. The bleeding had stopped and it looked stable. However, after a recheck, we could see that the swelling hadnt reduced and the eye had in fact ruptured. We had to make the decision to remove the eye. We also discovered an abscess when removing the eye.
Nellie made a great recovery and received a lot of votes from all the VV team for being so brave. Well done Nellie 😍🐱

**Star Pet of the month**
We're back and we would like to start by awarding Elvis Sidebottom for being our star pet for September 😍🎊
Back in May 2025, Elvis came to see us with some swelling on the left side of his body. Our initials thoughts were an allergic reaction to a bite or cellulitis. However, the swelling got worse and then burst, thinking this may have been an abscess. The wound was not healing and became more infected. A further wound was discovered on the right hand side and his right eye started to bulge. After more tests, it was still proving difficult to diagnose. A drain was placed into the wound to try and remove the infection. This, along with medication and patience, helped Elvis onto the road of recovery. Our vet suspects that the wounds were caused by a migrating foreign body.
Well done Elvis (and parents) it has been a tough few months 😍
