Most of you will know this already, but sadly this is my last week of walking dogs as Izzy's Walkies and I am no longer taking on any new pet sitting or dog walking bookings.

It has been an absolute pleasure looking after your dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, rabbits, chinchillas, fish, degus, hamsters, guinea pigs and chickens! Thank you for all your support :)

As of the 3rd November I will be starting in my new role as Philanthropy Executive for the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation helping to support a wide range of local charities across our local community and I may come into contact with a few of you in my new role :)

Hopefully I will also see quite a few of you whilst out walking Jasper, he will miss his old friends! Thankfully I will still have lots of opportunities to walk him he will still get plenty of company, fresh air and adventure.

Amazing dog returns lost items to their owners!

Just a reminder to check your dog regularly for ticks.

I found a little one on Jasper last night and was a able to quickly remove with one of these tick twisters, I would certainly recommend them.

You just slide it around the tick sideways, twist about three times and then the tick is removed. Keep it clear from you and the dog and check it is complete (head is not still stuck which can cause infection). I then wrapped up the tick in sellotape to destroy and wiped the attachment site with antibacterial wipe.

A vet or vet nurse will happily do this for you if you're not sure. It is worth checking for any signs of illness, particularly if the tick is large and engorged.

Make sure to clean your hands properly afterwards too.

Great coverage of dog topics so far including aggression, the truth behind dominance theories and healthy diets.

I'd definitely recommend watching it - Jasper has been a bit confused with all the barking though!

Baxter, Jasper and Lilly the lab at the park this week :)

Today may also be my last walk with Lilly, a rescue, who has come so far since I first met her.

For the past few months we've spent 10 hours a week together. She used to be terrified of other dogs, pull strongly and be very tense on walks - today was amazing. I've never walked her with another dog but today we introduced her to Jasper and they got on wonderfully and happily wagged tails through the fields.

What a difference for a beautiful and very sweet dog with a very loving home.

Sad to say goodbye to Alfie today as he is moving :( Alfie was my first client and I have known him since he was 16 weeks old. Jasper has grown up with him and we certainly will miss him! Good luck little Alf!
