In case you were curious why we have a bank holiday at the end of August google informs me as follows:-

“The August Bank Holiday was introduced by Sir John Lubbock's Bank Holidays Act of 1871 to give bank employees a break, initially falling on the first Monday of August for people to enjoy summer sports and leisure activities, like cricket matches. In 1965, a trial moved it to the last Monday of August to ease congestion during the summer holiday season, which was then made permanent in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland by the 1971 Banking and Financial Dealings Act. “

Cats Protection have been fantastic assisting with trapping & neutering some feral cats around the shop giving them much better outlooks in life

As many of you are aware we work hard with many feral colonies in the area. One has proved to be very huge and very challenging, mainly due to dealing with awkward people rather than the cats! After a very trying day yesterday we managed to get five kittens who will be off to much better, safer lives whether that be outdoor homes or domestic ones. Time will tell. The main thing is they will be neutered.
If this particular situation is a wake up call to anyone who lets their cats breed, you’re very welcome to come with us and see what we are dealing with. We have neutered between 40-50 cats and we and other local rescues (thank you!) have taken in numerous kittens. There are literally kittens having kittens there.
Huge thanks to the vets who have been working so hard to help neuter..
