✨ Special Offer – This Month Only! ✨

Thinking of getting your wee one neutered?
We’ve got two pawsome deals running until the end of the month:

🐾 Free adolescent health checks with one of our nurses – Perfect for that awkward teenage stage when they’re growing fast and full of beans.
🐾10% OFF all neutering – A great time to get your pet booked in!

🐶A few of the many benefits of neutering your pet🐱

Reduces certain health risks - Such as uterine infections, mammary tumours and testicular cancer.

Can improve behaviour - Often reduces roaming, spraying and some aggressive tendencies. Often they become more relaxed after neutering.

Helps prevent roaming accidents - Pets are less likely to wander and get lost or injured

📅 Offer ends at the end of August– don’t miss out!

📢Important Update: Brucella Canis Testing for Imported Dogs🐾

To help protect the health of our patients, staff, and clients — and to align with current UK policy and APHA (Animal & Plant Health Agency) guidelines — we have introduced mandatory Brucella canis screening for all dogs imported into the UK, especially from Eastern Europe.

What’s required?
✅ A Brucella canis antibody test must be performed at the time of registration (or prior).
✅ A second test is required 3 months after arrival to identify any late seroconversions.

Brucella canis is a serious zoonotic disease — meaning it can be transmitted to humans and other animals. These steps are crucial to keeping everyone safe.

If you have adopted a dog from a rescue organisation, especially one based overseas, please let us know. This information is vital so we can ensure appropriate testing and keep everyone safe.

If you’ve recently brought a dog into the UK, or are planning to adopt or import one, please contact us to arrange testing and discuss next steps.

Parasite Prevention – Fleas and Ticks and Roundworms

We love our pets, but we don’t love when they come with hitchhikers! Due to our temperate (although it doesn’t feel like it sometimes) climate, ectoparasites like fleas and ticks are a year round concern! As the recent weather has been allowing for exploration of the great outdoors, we have seen...

Summer is here! Many dogs, like Walter here, love the sun - but as the hot weather comes in we need to keep our pups safe!

-Check the weather ahead of time and avoid walking in the middle of the day when it’s hot; it’s better to go out in the morning or evening when it’s cooler.

-Make sure not to over-exert your dog! When you go outside, make sure you bring plenty of water and there’s shade available.

-Dogs at risk of heatstroke include flat faced breeds (pugs, Frenchies, bulldogs), overweight dogs, puppies, those with underlying health conditions, and older dogs.

-Signs of heatstroke in dogs include: heavy panting, excessive drooling, collapsing, drowsiness, vomiting, and diarrhoea.

-If you notice these signs, immediately move to the shade, offer small amounts of cool water, and apply cool (not cold) water to their body while avoiding their head. Don’t place wet towels on them as it can trap heat. Once the dog is cool, immediately take to the nearest vet.

-Never leave your dog in a hot car unattended for any amount of time, even if the window is opened Call 999 if you see a dog in distress in a hot car.
