When leaving your dog for boarding or even doggie day care make sure they give you a full tour of the premises INCLUDING THE AREAS FOR RESTING AND SLEEPING!!! If they do not show you were your dog is gonna sleep or even snooze during the whole day of daycare DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG WITH THE BUSINESS IN QUESTION. I made that mistake before and even though it was nowhere close to this kind of establishment I was still very disappointed after I learned how my dog lived for that week while I was away. A good dog related business will NEVER HIDE what they do and if they seem to be holding something back then there is a reason for it and you do not want to trust your dogs wellbeing ( mental health included as it is not just about making sure they do not get bit or otherwise injured) with people that only care about money grabbing. There are too many establishments these days who pretend to care for dogs, but only care about the profits so you need to be EXTRA VIGILANT and make sure you see EVERYTHING they have to offer. And just to be clear if it does sound all rainbows and butterflies then you are being lied to. What you want to hear is how the professionals are prepared for sticky situations instead of smiling to your face and telling you that all the dogs are bestest friends there and no one ever causes any trouble. Your dogs all round being is MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR NEED TO FEEL GOOD AND LESS GUILTY for going away for a while and leaving them behind. !!!
