Begs was out of surgery at 2pm, but I wasn't allowed to take him home until 3:30pm. Not happy about that at all.
As soon as I walked in, I could hear his panicked barking (because he was alone in a kennel) and the fear in his voice. I asked to get him out right away and I struggled to keep my cool as I had phoned at 1pm and 2pm and expressed that I wanted him home ASAP to prevent any further stress...
I requested he be given a gabapentin to prevent a seizure in the van on the way home, and we sat in the van for a while until I was happy enough to drive back. We're not out of the woods yet, as last week after his vet visit his first big seizure came at 2:30am after his meds began to wear off. I was extremely upset at hearing his panic barking, full of desperation and fear and I just KNOW he'd have been doing that non stop from the moment he came around. π
