Hi everyone I will be posting some videos to show you about matting and how matting can affect your dogs groom, over winter we tend to keep our dogs longer due to the cold weather , long coats mixed with bad weather as well as jackets/harnesses rubbing on your dogs coat can cause matting.
It’s difficult to know sometimes if your dogs coat is matted. The best way to know is if you are able to brush a comb through their coat , making sure the comb is reaching the bottom of their coat right through to the end, you should be able to do this all over their body - if you cannot do this then it’s likely they are matted .
if your wanting your dog kept fluffy then regular grooming is a must (6-8 weeks for full groom ) as well as regular brushing at home , this is crucial to keeping this style of cut as sometimes matts leave no option but to shave as it’s in your on dogs best interest and their safety and welfare is the main priority and we always go with humanity over vanity 🐶 hair will grow back but matting is painful for your dog and their comfort and safety is the main priority always 🐶
