𝐏𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒!💜🎓

We want to give a huge round of applause to our most recent puppy confidence course graduates - Daphne, Reginald and Mabel!👏🐾

We are so proud of these three for their achievements! Our veterinary nurse Katy has been working closely with them and their owners to build on their confidence and experiences within the practice. It's an excellent way to help your puppy to grow into a friendly and confident adult. The main aim is - we want puppies to have a positive experience when coming to the practice, as it will set them in good stead for when they may need to undergo treatment in the future, while also gaining valuable socialisation skills and learning appropriate play behaviour.

Thank you all for coming along to your graduation party, we hope you had as much fun as we did! If you are interested in booking your new addition into our puppy confidence courses, or you'd like to find out more - please don't hesitate to get in touch!🙂💜

Every year, dogs at our Glasgow rehoming centre suffer with extreme anxiety and distress caused by fireworks 😔💔

Following a 14-month-long process, we are delighted to share that Glasgow City Council has now approved a Firework Control Zone in Broomhouse, where the rehoming centre is situated, during fireworks season this year 🙌

This means that between 1st and 10th November, the private use of fireworks within the zone, such as back garden displays, will not be permitted. Public, organised displays will still be possible.

We hope it will be a much less distressing fireworks season this year, not only for our dogs, but for all dogs living in the local area.

Did you know that 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 your pet can actually help them to stay safe and at home where they belong?💜🐾

Neutering your pet is one of the most effective ways to help prevent them from becoming lost, and here’s why:

✅𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐦
Unneutered animals are driven by hormones to seek out a mate. This natural instinct can cause pets - especially males - to escape fences, dig under gates, or slip out of doors just to follow a scent or another animal. Once out, they can easily get lost or injured.

✅𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬
Neutered pets are less likely to display behaviors like aggression, marking territory, or fighting with other animals - all of which can increase the chances of them getting scared, running off, or being injured and disoriented.

✅𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲
Hormonal urges can cause restlessness and anxiety in pets, which often results in pacing, digging, or repeated escape attempts. Neutering helps calm these urges, making pets more content to stay close to home.

✅𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫
Neutered pets are often more focused and easier to train, which means they are more likely to come when called and respond to commands - crucial if they ever slip out unexpectedly.

✅𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬
An unspayed or unneutered pet may attract other animals to your garden, leading to potential confrontations or encouraging your pet to leave with them.

Your pet depends on you to keep them safe. Neutering is a simple step that can make a big difference in preventing them from ever becoming a lost pet statistic.💜🙂
