Me copying training after seeing my daughter and her dogs easily do this… it took a minute but luckily I also watched her train her young dog new things.
I learned watching her (she’s a pro dog trainer) that dogs, like us all, need to learn to conquer the fear of doing something new. First Maze jumped over it, then would only put her front paws on (it’s a bit slidey and was freaking her out), so then I put it next to a seat so she could walk onto it from there, moved it away from the seat. Love learning the way of the good trainers. No hurrying, understanding fear, allowing the mistakes with no negativity but not allowing them to give up, reps, praise and praising all the bits along the way to get to the end result.
