Last month, Cedar Pest Control secured another annual contract, this time covering seven large commercial premises across a single site in Leeds. Located within the same grounds, these properties came under our care following reports from the facilities management company of extensive rodent activity and resulting damage.

The main issues identified included significant rat infestations within external air conditioning units and mice gaining access to buildings through gaps around pipework. Left unchecked, these vulnerabilities had already caused damage both inside and out, posing a serious risk to operational continuity.

Treated this wasps nest today for a regular customer. It was pretty large and very active for this time of year.
It would be three times bigger by the end of August.

Bit awkward treating from outside due to the large air vent.
We dealt with it from the loft hatch.

No guessing where the rats and mice are entering on these three houses I have been to today.

My professional and best advice to anyone hearing noices just get in touch immediately.

Noticeable droppings, damaged materials or food damage is rodent ingress.

Did this wasps nest today in Cowthorpe near Wetherby.

Unreachable from ground level as going under lead flashing of chimney on three story house.

But undeterred definitely reachable with the wasp wand through the roof velux windows.

Treated one side for the nest, however found that there was also another nest the other side of the chimney due to the massive volume of wasps which were very agitated.

Customer very happy having also had around 300 in the bedroom.

New contract to set up tomorrow for a prestige car sales garage in Leeds.
Rats getting up into the engine area and causing immense damage.

Visited a house today in Hambleton for noises in an extension kitchen ceiling.
No access was available from inside via a hatch so this would be difficult to establish whether a rat, mice, squirrel or a bird.

Did a quick check around the house and found a hole at the back of a gate post leading under the foundations which the owner had checked and overlooked.

Rats are very clever and have an instinct to gain access to your home detecting holes below the surface. Typically you have a whole brick missing here several inches below the surface.

So I have fastened several blocks to a wire and fed them right under and into the cavity. I expect to go back in one week and the wire will be empty. I will then seal the hole with mesh and concrete when happy it is eradicated.

Establishing it was a rat I then popped out a couple of down lights in the kitchen and fed more secured poison into these areas. Something I could not do not knowing what we were dealing with.
