Since receiving Elkie's prints from our vet I have been speaking with a lovely lady called Gemma about having them made into a very special keepsake. I'm overwhelmed & delighted at the love & attention Gemma has poured into this ✨️Thank you Gemma for such a wonderful gift which I will forever treasure 💛

Put your hands up if you use one of these to throw a ball repetitively for your dog on a walk? 🤚
Or do you throw the ball repetitively by hand? ✋

As your dog runs at high speed to get the ball, slams on the breaks when they get to it, and spin tightly round to come back…. And do it again and again…. They are putting excessive amounts of pressure on their shoulders, feet, neck and back legs! ‼️

At County Vets one of the most common injuries we see are Cruciate Ligament tears, and other severe soft tissue injuries, which very often are due to wear and tear on joints due to continual ball throwing! 😬

We understand your dog loves their ball or favourite toy, but we encourage you to NOT throw the ball continually for your dog on walks 🐶

Other ways you can use the ball to keep your dog focused can be:
- Throw the ball once or twice per walk, then let your dog carry the ball the rest of the time.
- Choose a ball toy with a rope attached so you can play a gentle game of tug as an alternative.
- Hide the ball somewhere on your walk and send your dog to sniff it out.

If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to ask ⬇️
