Last summer I was asked to build a lean too over existing matted areas to the rear of our stable block. And over the ponies smaller matted areas. This has been a real success in so many ways.
1. Matted areas are dry, less cleaning
2.with last years heat it gave the horses shelter
3.added rainwater capture

Mounting blocks I have built recently. A wide and longer block that will stay in place, and a lighter one with wheels and handle that can be moved about in the yard, I used locally sourced wood and scaffold boards with chicken wire for added grip. The crew yard gates in our yard had started to rot, so I was asked to make new ones, what I could find off the shelf were either expensive or not up to the job, I used a local supplier for the wood and make these very substantial and strong gates. Built to fit each gateway on site.
