Hi, I’m Lauren from Summer Walks. Thought I would share some of my background with you.

My obsession with dogs started from the day I was born — we’ve always had dogs in the family. When I was 6 years old, my dad brought me my first dog, Chive, and he taught me the ropes of training working dogs.

As I got older, I started working in our family friends’ kennels and loved every minute of it. To this day, it was one of my favourite jobs and some of my happiest memories.

After Chive passed away, I left it a few years before getting my current dog, Summer, who turns 10 next month.

I then went on to work in sheep dairy, milking, and lamb rearing, where I met my partner. After moving to Frome, I changed careers and became the manager of a pet shop.

Wanting to expand our family meant another complete career change, but eventually I started Summer Walks so I could get my “doggy fix” again doing something I truly love.

My dream is that one day my client base will allow me to do this full time.
