hen we take this learning into classes to generalise.- Indoor and outdoor venues, (secure field). We offer in person classes, 121 and online (covering reactivity, separation, recall, scent work, foundation-agility and the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards Scheme.

*** SAFETY WARNING ***

Please be aware that we have received a report of a highly poisonous plant being washed up on Bembridge beach.

The plant is Hemlock Water Dropwort (Oenanthe crocata), also known as Dead Man’s Fingers. Even a small portion can prove fatal to humans by attacking the nervous system. It is also fatal to animals.

The plant has a highly poisonous root that looks and smells like Parsnip.

It is highly likely that this is washing ashore due to the recent stormy weather. We advise people, especially with children and animals, to stay vigilant. Please avoid this plant and take extra care when visiting the beach.

As always, please remember if you or someone else is in difficulty on the coast or at sea then please dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

‘INTRODUCTION WORKSHOP’ …..

2 hour session looking at your individual ‘needs’ regarding walking nicely on a lead and recall…. £25

Plenty of light bulb moments along the way… sometimes the ‘cause’ of your ‘struggle’ isn’t what you may think. 💡

We will be incorporating fun, obedience-style training, giving you and your dog coping skills for real life situations, while keeping your relationship secure and building on the enjoyment of walking with your dog.

All our classes / workshops will be tailored to you and your dog’s individual needs.

‘Just for fun’

One of my lovely ladies sent me this today and made me chuckle….

Hello.

2 people have said to me today and yesterday that I need “Graham off the telly” to which I smile sweetly and tell them “no thank you, I have Jane off the messenger”! Ruddy cheek… 😂😂

All my clients in person 121’s, classes or online consults have me on ‘messenger’or WhatsApp 24/7 support’ can’t ask for much more than that…. 💙

Sometimes, even I forget to celebrate the ‘wins’ that are happening all the time with our sensitive dogs.

The journey we travel to our goal is rarely a linear process, with many ups and downs along the way.

Then something like this happens, total novelty….

Archie had walked passed these two beauts and we turned around and watched them for a bit…. 💙💙

Through games and reward based training we can and do reshape brains ❤️

Saturday 17th JANUARY 2026 West Wight.

6 week course £90.

✅’boundaries’ - in a fun way
✅controlled socialisation
✅ learning through choice rather than ‘commands’

✅ no force or ‘corrective’ methods used

At Evolving4paws we teach you and your dogs the skills to navigate the real world.

We build value in being with you through games and reward based methods to help on your journey with walking on a lead and recall.

This course is usually for pups up to 6months although consideration will be given to slightly older, depending on the dog and struggles you may have.

💥 ‘ CATCH’ 💥

💫Why would you want to teach your dog to ‘catch’ food? 💫

🔆It is a fun way to reward your dog for proximity choices. (A reward experience for loose-lead-walking, recall, focus and engagement with you.)

🔆’CATCH’ can be used to manipulate your dog’s arousal level, whether you want calmness or energy.

🔆It is a great way to ascertain if you really have your dog’s ’ brain’ tuned in to you.

🔆As always there are levels to this to teach generalisation in different environments , arousal states and different positions.

🔆For those of you experienced ‘Catchers’ ….have a go at the SLOW MO COMPETITION.

Please keep your videos quite short as when posted a 30 second slow mo equates to about three minutes 😂

🔥The winner will be the video that gets the most ‘likes’ . 🚜🚜

Closing date will be September 30th 8pm.

⚠️ Don’t punish or correct the information your dog is giving you…. ⚠️

It is entrusted to you to support, help and start to change the emotion that drives this behaviour.

This can not be worked on ‘in the moment’ as your dog’s threshold is too high…

We can not ‘insist’ that our dogs feel better with over exposure, or ‘socialisation’ instead we learn about them, gathering information and learning about the underlying emotions that are causing the ‘outburst’ … (dog behaviour)

Always look for the possible ‘causes’ and not just try to treat the ‘symptom’

One size does not fit all for ‘reactivity’ (in my world it is known as ‘awareness of the environment’)
