Evening folks π
What a beautiful day it has been! Is summer finally here?!ππ
We've been down at The Park cutting, trimming, cleaning and restocking; it's all go! π±π§½π§Όπ§Ήπ·ππ°π
There was a message left on the blackboard, not sure if it's a complaint or merely a suggestion, but I think it's a valid point that should absolutely be up for discussion π...
"Water should be provided for free like all other dog parks" π¦
Ok, so firstly, as many of you know, we π― welcome ANY feedback. We are constantly striving to make The Park the best place for you and your dogs that it can be π so, buckle up, long post incoming...
We do not have any running water at The Park, we won't be investing in any running water system π°
We don't and won't offer any type of water container or shared water bowls, (or paddling pools now that we're on the subject πββοΈ), for the following reasons...
Water containers that are sitting for any period of time, (especially in this heat), are susceptible to bacteria and parasites such as GARDIA, SALMONELLA AND CAMPYLOBACTER, all resulting in truly horrible symptoms such as vomiting, bloody diarrhea and lethargy, not to mention, spreading to humans if untreated π¦ π·
Shared water bowls can also spread such infections. And considering the number of dogs that visit the Park, especially on busy days, it would only take for 1 dog with an upset tummy to spread germs to the rest π€’π
IN MY OPNION... Every dog owner should carry a supply of fresh water and a bowl in their vehicle at all times, whether out running their dog or not, in case of an unexpected breakdown, etc. π§
We supply an honesty box of treats and bottled water with bowls. The proceeds of this goes to CHARITY π₯° Over the past 4 years that Drumgley has been open, we've raised over Β£1000 for LOCAL doggie charities π€
The bottled water in the charity honesty box is intended for in case you run out of water, your dog tips your bowl or you just simply forget to bring water π€¦ββοΈ
So, that's our thoughts, let's hear yours π§
What does everyone think or want when it comes to drinking water at The Park??
We'd really love to hear your thoughts or suggestions π¦π
And as always, thank you for your continued support, it means the ππΎ
