🚨 Serious post alert! 🐶🐾

At Happy Dog Holiday Care, we are very serious about offering the highest quality and standard of service, for both sitting (in your home) and boarding (in our licensed premises) 🙂.

Maintaining our five star boarding licence is something we are proud of and work hard to retain 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Recently, we discovered our licence has not been appearing on Hart District Council's register of boarding premises 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Having completed our most recent audit with flying colours, we investigated further 🧐. The explanation received is that we certainly DO have a valid five star licence, however, an employee at the council, "forgot to tick a box," meaning we were not appearing for anyone checking the register online. We have also learned that they are aware of more than one business this has happened to.

Obviously this has been a huge point of frustration. There is no way of knowing how this has impacted enquiries, bookings and our reputation 😓.

Rest assured, we are fully licensed for boarding and recommend that, whether you're considering boarding with Happy Dog Holiday Care or any other provider, that you not only check the council's registers, but contact them directly too to verify a licence, as these registers cannot be relied upon.

We do have some limited spaces for both boarding and sitting over the coming months, so drop us a line if you are looking for the very best for your pets while you're away 🐶💕

Spring is in the air! 🌼🌷

We would like to take full credit for the recent upturn in weather 😉, having made it our mission to take cute photos with the daffodils we now see popping up everywhere 💛.

Here are a couple of our favourites, and we hope our admiration of these spring beauties will encourage more to follow suit, and the sun to keep on shining! 🌤🙂

Our latest stay with Fern and Albi!

These two, and the wider household 🤗, are a long established and much loved part of the Happy Dog family 🥰.

Our stays always involve a total absence of personal space 🐶👱‍♀️🐶, more cuddles than we know what to do with 💖 and boundless enthusiasm 😃 ... except for first thing in the mornings (we get it guys) 😴🤣.

They love their walkies, toys and treatos, with Albi being the undisputed king of the tennis ball 🎾, and Ferny always on border patrol; whether it's her garden, or the enclosed fields we hire for them to run in, every inch of that perimeter will have a good sniff! 🐶

It was wonderful to spend time with them again, along with Raya and Rafi (two of the most gorgeous and sociable kitties we've ever met 🫠), plus the chickens and fish! 🐶🐶🐱🐱🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐠🐟🐟🐠🐠

A first for Happy Dog Holiday Care! 🤗

The clue is in our name, right? 🐶 Dogs are kind of our thing, and we adore our time with our canine friends 🥰. Of course, we have a love and appreciation of all animal life and, to date, have enjoyed also looking after cats 🐱, fish 🐠, chickens 🐔 and guinea pigs 🐹. All species are welcome!

This month we had our first ever sit with no dogs involved at all. Bella the cat enjoyed Holly’s full attention, and it was wonderful to be able to bond with this little lady 🐱🥰.

Although it felt strange to not need to go walking for hours during the day, Bella appreciates company when outside, so we spent time pottering in the garden 🌳 and playing games indoors 🪶. We all know the way to any cat’s heart is likely to involve a box (!) 📦, so Holly brought one along, as well as a brand-new toy, which she loved pouncing on and chasing around the house! Bella can be a little shy, so it was lovely that she decided to grace Holly with her presence for a little evening television – we certainly felt the love! 💛💜

It was an absolute pleasure Bella, and we hope to see you again soon 🐈✨️

Double the fun with Gaja and Margaux! 😍🐾💞

We had the pleasure of looking after Gaja, the sweetest rescue girl, and Margaux, the gentlest giant! Margaux, at just over a year old, has officially broken our record as the biggest dog we’ve ever looked after - tipping the scales at 83kg of pure love and goofiness! 🐕♥️

Despite only having them for a long weekend, we enjoyed plenty of walks around Hawley Woods, booked a secure field so Gaja could safely stretch her legs, and reunited Gaja with her furry bestie, Twiggy, Devon’s dog 🐾🌳. Both were treated to some fun new chews, which Margaux was particularly happy about, and we even got some cuddles from Batman the cat, who is notoriously grumpy! 🥰

We LOVE spending time with these two (and Batman!), and we can’t wait to see them again soon 😁🐾

We were so excited to look after Moki, a 5-month-old border collie, for his very first sit with us, and at short notice too! 🐾😁

Full of energy and bursting with personality, Moki kept us on our toes in the best way possible. We had a blast playing together, and he absolutely loved his walkies, sniffing everything he could along the way! 🌳🎾

It was such a pleasure to help out and get to know this adorable little bundle of fun! 🥰 We look forward to seeing you again soon, Moki 👋🏻

Rescued from Romania, her life has truly transformed. It could have been so very different, so it's always extra heartwarming to see her having fun and letting loose! 🐶💕

Fabulous freezing walkies!! ❄️🐕 🚶🏼‍♀️

We know many will have been cursing the subzero temperatures recently, but we have been LOVING them! 😃

The adventures have been absolutely out of this world 🌎 and Gracie has been taken on as many as she could handle during out latest sit 🥰.

She definitely needed her evening snoozies each day 😴, but had an absolute blast. The sniffs in particular are so much more delicious in these conditions, and we arranged a playdate too, so she could share the experience with her friend Nova, as she's such a sweet sociable gal 🐶💛🐶💛🐶.

Whatever your dog enjoys, we make it happen! The highest standards. As always. As standard 😎

We've had the most adorable November 🥹🐶💜

Little Amy is officially the longest staying boarding guest at Happy Dog Holiday Care, having been on holiday with us for the last four weeks! 😃

This little pocket rocket is up for any adventure and also packs a serious punch in the cuteness stakes. After long days of snoozing, walkies, dismantling toys and defending us from her arch nemisis, the postman 🚩✉️😳, she loves to burrow under the blankets for sofa cuddles 🫠.

Her gorgeous colouring always attracts attention and lots of questions about her breed and background, giving us the opportunity to highlight the wonderful world of rescue. If you can, we always encourage adoption 💛💜

We are so sad that her big stay has come to an end, but look forward to seeing her again in just a few short weeks 💜🙌💛

Autumn antics at Happy Dog Holiday Care 🍂

We can't believe it's November already! We're Loving this part of the year, still dry and warm enough, with crispy colourful carpets of leaves to crunch through on walkies 🥰 🍂 🐶

Not one but TWO stays for Cheeky Charlie this month! 🐶🐶

His savvy social skills, beautiful nature and charming character make Charlie a very popular guest at chez Happy Dog, so we were delighted to host him for a double holiday helping 🥰.

His relationship with Nova, our resident boarding dog, is a joy to watch. Charlie is such a little gentleman, very respectful with just the right amount of attitude 😂💙. We really enjoyed our walkies together, he was super helpful in the garden 🍃, loved his playtime 🐕, and his cuddles were next level 😍. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it 😁.

We miss you already Charlie and can't wait until next time 🤗🤩🐶💕

🎥 Ready. Set. Action! There was a definite movie vibe to our latest sit with Gracie, as our favourite walkies locations had been taken over by film sets!

Despite Gracie's best puppy dog eyes 🐶🥹, and the addition of more cuteness when her friend Nova joined for a visit 🐶💕, we were unsuccessful at convincing the security guards to reveal which A-listers have been hanging around the Farnham area. If anyone knows, feel free to leave a comment!

Gracie was a Hollywood star as usual 🌟 and we had great adventures as we made the most of the autumn weather 🍂 ☀️ 🤩🤗. See you again soon gorgeous girl! 🐶💖

Pop in pawfection withe Pudsey and Barney 🐾

We've said it before and were happy to repeat ourselves ... every dog is an individual and should be respected as such 👏.

A few months ago, Barney and Pudsey's owners contacted us, looking for the right sort of person to look after their two super spaniels 🐶💙🐶.

While Barney is all about the love and cuddles, Pudsey is a more discerning chap, who has historically needed a little more time and considered engagement, before he would welcome a stranger into his home 🏡.

So we got to work with familiarisation sessions, taking the time to understand Pudsey's needs in particular, and letting him dictate the pace 🐶. As a result, we had a smooth build-up to their recent pop in visits, and the visits themselves went pawfectly, with Pudsey even joining in a bit of play! 🥰

We were thrilled to be able to send photos and videos to their owners, showing happy relaxed dogs, giving peace of mind so they could enjoy their time away 💙.

We look forward to next time boys 🐶💙🐶

Precious Pixie - pop-ins and photoshoots! 💕

This Romanian Queen is royalty at Happy Dog Holiday Care, and doesn’t she know it 👑🐶? We spend an hour with her here-and-there when her family needs to pop out for the day, so every minute counts!

Pixie decides what we do on our visits 🐕. Sometimes she doesn’t fancy a walk, so we head into the garden for games, treatos, back massages and neck scratchies 🤗. Other times she wants a little stroll, so we potter down the lane and sniff EVERY inch of the local community 💛🐶💜.

Most recently, we acted as her personal staff and butler on a family photoshoot 📸. She delivered a masterful performance and was finished in a matter of minutes, so we took advantage and lapped up the sights and smells around Frensham Ponds, while her humans finished taking pictures 🐶😊.

She's an absolute sweetheart and we love spending time with her. Whatever you need Pixie, we'll make it happen 💕

If Olympic sports included night-time cuddles, stuffed toy tug-of-wars and looking handsome, it'd be gold for Mac and Woody! 🏅 🐶🏅 🐶

As their pawrents headed to Paris, we enjoyed lovely country walks, garden games, treato sniffaris and epic sofa snuggles 🤗, all while keeping an eye on the TV as Team GB racked up the medals!

We love staying with this charming duo. They're always up for fun and games, while their cheeky characters keep us laughing and always looking forward to next time 💙💛💜.

Mr Bruce's big summer stay! 🌥🐕

A full two weeks with this funny, cheeky very good boy 💙. He slotted in beautifully and we were really able to maximise his time with us as a result 😊🐕.

Between mammoth snooze sessions he enjoyed his adventures, games, cuddles and tummy rubs; his impeccable manners and love of meeting new people meant he was able to venture out to watch the big football final with extended family ⚽️ (just a shame about the result!) and come on regular car rides for exploring further afield.

His biggest love, however, was reserved for the plush daybed in the kitchen where he spent more time than any dog in the history of Happy Dog Holiday Care 😴😂. Nova was a generous host and didn’t mind him lounging the days away 💕.

He became a much loved part of the furniture during his long stay and we hope he comes to stay again very soon 🐶💙🏡
