Although we may be quiet on social media we have certainly have been busy…

Unfortunately we have outgrown our yard but have finally secured a new place, which needed all the old fences ripped out, dug out fields tidied and new a new fence round the field. Ross had ripped out off the old fencing and was all systems go digging the old muck out and levelling the shed as best we could today with a digger. Massive thanks to Jamie Hamilton for driving the digger and Jim Currie for the lend of his tractor and trailer.

Next up is building some stables so keep your eyes open for that 👀

This is very much deserved having being thrown in at the deep end 2 seasons ago…

Jess works very hard in her day job along with making sure our horses are turned out immaculately each and every time, winning best turned out at least 90% of the time, she is a massive credit to the team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes from making sure our foals are registered on time to winning best turned out with our runners at Point to Points, we are incredibly grateful for Jess’ help and knowledge along with everyone else who helps along the way (you know who you are)

With both Ross and Jess working full time plus the addition of 2 foals, 11 point to point meetings, 1 hunter chase, 6 pony race meetings.

It’s fair to say the team need some down time and therefore we will be closed from Saturday 6th June to Monday 16th June

Busy few months for the team… but here is a glimpse of what we’ve been up to

PLEASE READ

We received a concerning email this morning regarding a group of youths entering our fields for the last 4-5 nights chasing the mare, yearling and foal as well as trying to climb onto the two younger horses.

We currently have three horses in this field:
One is pregnant and has never been ridden, one has just turned a year old, the other is a 4month old foal, they are physically not strong enough to even consider carrying a person.

We have always said that we will welcome anyone onto the yard to see the horses at a time suitable for everyone so that it can be done correctly and safely. Horses are naturally flight animals however when felt threatened or feel their youngstock has been threatened then they will fight back and we would hate for anyone or any of our horses to be hurt

Unfortunately we are now at the point where we have had to get the police involved and have been in talks with them as it is now an equine welfare concern. There will also be cameras going up around the perimeter of the field and the yard to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

This will not and cannot be tolerated any further

Busy weekend for the team;
Saturday started with pony racing - yet another best turned out for a Brand Ambassador Emily Dodds and Jess then Emily went on to give RAMBLING ROSIE a fab ride

Then was the racing club INVICTION’s turn - unfortunately didn’t run the race we were hoping for so the team are back to the drawing board to think of a new plan

We then had the weekend highlight - Ross’ Uncle’s SHE IS THE ENEMY went and won her maiden race

Sunday - a quieter day with some RoR schooling for CUP FINAL, Peebles March Riders walk and trot ride and some time spent with the youngstock

Due to unforeseen circumstances at the beach this evening which resulted in INVICTION and Ross parting ways.
