Hi Everyone,
I’ve been debating whether to post something like this because I didn’t want to add fuel to the fire or appear problematic. However, I now feel I have little choice but to address what has been happening.
Over the last few weeks, there have been ongoing attempts by certain individuals to damage both my business and my reputation.
I was previously involved with a UK sugar glider group, where I became a moderator and was featured on their website. During that time, I raised concerns regarding the safety of some products that were being promoted. Unfortunately, those concerns were ignored and I made the decision to remove myself because I did not want my name, business, or products associated with practices that I believed could compromise animal safety.
Since distancing myself, I have experienced what appears to be a coordinated effort to undermine my business.
One individual has started producing toys that closely resemble my original designs, while also using unsafe materials and construction methods. As someone who prioritises safety above all else, this is deeply concerning.
More recently, a repeat customer of mine was encouraged to film herself deliberately destroying a toy that she had purchased from me. Those videos were then sent to a group owner in America, who shared them publicly with other vendors and toy makers.
This customer has now been removed from my page, blocked and will not be allowed to purchase from me again.
What is particularly telling is that before anyone knew the toy belonged to me, there were no negative comments about its construction or safety. Instead, many people recognised that the item in the video was being intentionally damaged.
I would also like to remind people that I have been mentored by a toy maker and cage set maker who is recognised worldwide for their expertise and commitment to safety. In addition, although my work has already been checked and deemed safe. Despite it being unnecessary and the actions of others speaking for themselves , I am currently in the process of sending products to America for further independent assessment and verification so my customers can be reassured. It is also to have more proof that the allegations and claims made against my products are false!
The toy selected for this exercise was a basket toy featuring a rubber Mickey Mouse duck on top. It has since become clear why that particular design was chosen.
I have remained silent for as long as possible because I believe in professionalism, positivity, and allowing my work to speak for itself. However, there comes a point where enough is enough.
