I have a large horse hair grey & blonde mix mane, tail & forelock set on the hide for sale. Please note grey does come at a premium price due to availability of the colour.

These large grey sets on the hide currently sell for £220 at The Rocking Horse Shop, Yorkshire. Our price £110. Tracked and insured postage included.

Mane: Hide lenght 12 inches, drop at longest point is 30 inches.

Forelock: Hide 1 inch sq. Drop 15 inches.

Tail: on the Hide, drop 30 inches.

Fitting lnstructions included or we do offer a fitting service at additional cost.

This horse belongs to a client who doesn't like the tan paintwork, she has asked for it to be repainted in dapple grey. We wouldn't normally take on commissions for these models due to unseasoned /green wood being used in their construction which often causes the wood on the horse to split. These models were imported into the UK from Indonesia during the past 20 years.

Another example of a Chinese imported rocking horse are those which have a brass plate on the top bar to the rocker stand inscribed with Millennium Special, serial number ###x

This is a small blonde set, real horse hair on the hide suitable for a rocking horse upto 36 inches tall on their swing style rocker.

Mane: 8 1/2 inches long on the hide. Drop at the longest point is 18 inches.

Forelock: On the hide with a drop of 19 inches.

Tail: On the hide, 20 inches in length.

Work on Tiptoe is now complete. She is looking for her new home. Her rehoming fee is £800.

* All new paintwork, which has been sealed for protection.

* New real horse hair mane, tail and forelock.

* New leather removable bridle, martingale and stirrup leathers.

* New pair of stirrup irons.

* Tiptoe retains her original leather removable saddle. She benifits from a new numnah.

* Her rocker stand has been stained, waxed, and serviced.

Tricks of the Trade.

If you want to give your current mane & tail a lovely shine and fresh look, spay with furniture polish which has beeswax included. Cover your horses paintwork with a towel prior to spraying the polish. Use a large toothed brush to brush through and achieve a beautiful result.

This is a new delux thick numnah to fit the 41 inch medium Haddon, which has a removable saddle. Although it will fit other horses as well, please check photos to confirm size. Hand crafted.

This beauty has been air brushed painted by its owner, what a fabulous job they have done. He is with us to be 'dressed' mane & tail to be fitted, new saddle and bridle supplied and fitted ect, ect. Photos on completion to follow.

Sometimes it can be very difficult to identify a makers name if presented without any original paintwork and no rocker stand available. However l have made a few enquiries, it has been confirmed this horse is a Lines 21 with some extra carving. Most likely built before the last war in their London factory.

Another large 51" Haddon booked to come in for a full restoration in the coming weeks. Photos will follow once he arrives.

Work has started on this beauty. Her ear was damaged (see photos) which has now been repaired. As these models are build from fibre glass, we use specialised filler for all body repairs
