The face of a happy Sophie! She doesn’t feel comfortable leaving her family for walks yet so yesterday we went together to help build her confidence with me. She’ll get there with patience and understanding, then we can go on all sorts of adventures together 🥰

My buddy Mont has been a bit under the weather lately so we haven’t had our normal walks but he enjoyed some calm time in the sunshine today. What a handsome boy he is 💙🐶🐾

❗ Foster homes needed ❗

Hello everyone 👋

We have some animals here that sadly due to various reasons aren't yet able to go up for homing even though they are very excited to find one.

You can help these precious animals by giving them a great foster home whilst they wait to go up for homing!

Fostering is a great way to get an animal out of the kennel environment which will make them happier and give them a loving home so they are ready when they go up for homing! ❤

Lots of chill time and check ins today due to the heat. It was already hot at 9 o’clock so Buster had a nice paddle to cool off 💦💙🐶

Keeping your dogs safe in the heat -

It’s that time of year when temperatures are getting so high that it is no longer safe to walk dogs in the middle part of the day due to the very real risk of heat stroke. This is not something I am willing to risk so I offer the following alternatives to usual walks:
🐶 check ins - will include a toilet break in the garden, top up water. Keeping the dog company and encouraging calm behaviour. I can also include enrichment (scent games) to work their brain instead of their body which really wears them out mentally and can be just as beneficial as physical exercise.
🐶 Evening walks are available for those who are booked in for the hottest parts of the day, I may also be able to move walks forward in the day where possible.
🐶 Quick pop ins just for toilet, water top up and safety check.
🐶 Shorter walks combined with a check in if it’s safe to do so.

If you would prefer to cancel your walk please provide as much notice as possible - minimum of 24 hours. You won’t be charged for this.

Everyday’s a sniffy day at Pups Away! Most of my walks involve maximum snoot usage, dogs get so much from using their nose so if they wanna sniff they can sniff to their hearts content 💙🐶🐾
