Instead of wondering why they keep doing that behaviour that embarrasses you, why they act the way they do. Because we use the

natural dog laws in the way we do, we can help you achieve a connection that will give you the ability to live your life with your dog(s) in every social environment, no matter where in the world. In our training courses we use:-
Reward based positive reinforcement. Rules, Boundaries & Limitations
Our extensively researched enrichment activities
Intentional Interactions. Social bonding opportunities with all breeds. Natural rituals, such as ‘Pack Walks’ in enriched areas

We have designed a fully supervised enriching programme to creating a fun & educational places for dog(s) to learn, grow and reach their full potential by meeting their emotional, psychological, physical & social needs. We especially like to work with dogs that have behavioural issues using dog psychology & behaviour correctional techniques, which are all used in a natural way as a ‘Pack Leader’ would. We offer a broad array of services, including ‘human training’, or just a simple walk for your dog. We believe in teaching in a ‘natural process’ education to our customers to help them better understand their dog(s). Our mission and pledge as ‘Pack Leaders’ are:-
To keep your dog happy, healthy and safe in our care. Guide you on how to connect and bond with your dog in a way they understand. Have the confidence in both your abilities to have an active, fun & social life without worry. We are passionate about having well-rounded, well-balanced dogs living their best lives & fundamentally believe that all dogs have physical, social & mental drives & needs. We are so excited to have our NEW commitment contract for you, where your dog(s) can have these needs met. At The BDC, our aim is to give owners & their dogs the best canine service possible. If there is something that your dog needs, that isn’t covered in our list of services, contact us to discuss your requirements. Our clients are like family to us & we are here for them even after they no longer need our
services.

Dug Club Check In

Sorry we’re a bit late today — it’s been a full-on Dug Club kind of day.

A few familiar faces were back with us, with Roxy and Ruby enjoying their first day back… and honestly, what a day to return on.
Thursdays at the field are definitely mayhem day.
No tennis balls were required today (sorry Poppy 🎾) — the pack made their own entertainment, and they were very proud of it.

💘 Leo was particularly taken by Roxy and Ruby, which amusingly seemed to delight the other Ruby too.
(We officially have many Rubys now — it’s becoming a thing.)

💥 Freya, Coco, and Rocket were more than happy to turn things up a notch with some rough and tumble, keeping the energy high and the legs moving.

💨 Meanwhile, Jackson found himself right in the zoomies zone — high-speed movement, sudden direction changes, and zero regard for personal space. He handled it like a professional.

A busy, noisy, joyful day with the pack — everyone finished tired, settled, and very pleased with themselves 💚

Dug Club Check In.

We headed over to Broxburn Field today — full of nature, space to breathe, and plenty to explore.

The pack started off just how they like it: a couple of laps together, moving as a group and settling into the environment before anyone got carried away.

That calm didn’t last long though…
🌲 Jackson, Drake, Shelly, Cooper, and Rocket decided it was officially time for some rough and tumble, charging through the trees and canvassing each other like a well-rehearsed chaos crew. Big energy, lots of movement, and plenty of laughs.

💦 When we passed the water hole, Miss Nebula made it very clear that paw hygiene comes first. A quick clean before anyone was allowed near the water — standards must be maintained.

A great mix today of togetherness, freedom, and sensible pauses, all handled within structure and space. Just how Dug Club days should be 💚

After a lot of thought, it’s time to say goodbye to this page.

The Balanced Dog Company was built with love, dedication, and a deep respect for dogs — and at the very heart of it all was Kenny. This business exists because of his passion, his knowledge, and the care he showed every dog and every owner who trusted him.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Your kindness, patience, messages, and continued trust — especially through the most difficult time of our lives — have meant more than I can ever put into words.

As we move forward, this page will be closing, and The Balanced Dog Company will be continuing on a new page. We’re carrying Kenny’s values with us into this next chapter, while gently moving the business forward.

It’s with a heavy heart that I share that my beloved fiancé, Kenny Martin, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at Forth Valley Hospital on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025 — his 55th birthday.

For over a decade, Kenny poured his heart into The Balanced Dog Company, building it from the ground up with endless patience, humour, and dedication. Working with dogs was his happy place — especially those who came with a few “extra terms and conditions.” He had a special gift for understanding the anxious, the reactive, and the misunderstood, and he helped countless dogs (and owners) find balance, trust, and confidence again.

Kenny’s legacy lives on in every wagging tail, every calmer walk, and every moment of trust he helped to rebuild. Those who knew him — whether two-legged or four — will remember his quiet strength, gentle approach, and deep love for the dogs in his care.

A private family funeral will take place in the coming week. We’ll be holding a memorial to celebrate Kenny’s life and his incredible impact in the new year, with details to follow once plans are in place.

On behalf of our family and all at The Balanced Dog Company, I want to thank everyone who has reached out or shared kind words. Your support has meant more than I can express.

Kenny was, and always will be, the heart of this journey. I’ll be continuing The Balanced Dog Company in his honour — with the same care, compassion, and understanding he brought to every dog he met. 💔🐾

🩺 Kenny Update - Month 4

Thank you so much to everyone who’s reached out with kind messages and continued patience—it means a lot. ❤️

Right now, there’s no real change in Kenny’s condition. We’re still waiting on results and hoping for a clearer picture next week. He’s not getting worse, but he’s not improving either—just stuck in a bit of a limbo. However, he may be able to come home for a few days over the weekend🤞🏻

In the meantime, we’re managing things carefully behind the scenes to try and keep your service running smoothly.

We’ll keep you in the loop when we know more. Thanks again for being absolute gems 🐾
