Beans & Toast Kitten Update..

These two really aren't having much luck and are both currently admitted at the vets 😔

They've really had a bad start to their short little lives, and since Beans' eye was removed it isn't healing as it should and is now possibly infected, plus poor Toast had a poorly leg that is now actually fractured 😿

We're giving these little guys the best chance at life with all the care and vet treatment possible, but the bills are rocketing 😳

If you can spare a pound or two to help us care for Beans and Toast, please donate 🙏 Thank you.

A little update on Beans... he's back with Doreen and currently inside so that he doesn't overdo things in the big pens and gets the rest he needs. He's also within ear shot of Doreen. His eye (or the place where his eye was) is still quite swollen but he's on painkillers so hopefully he's comfortable.

Get well soon little man x x

We have a winner! 🤩

Well done to Mikka for getting herself into the most stupid situation out of all of the entries to our photo competition. It was so hard to judge as there were so many excellent entries and we want to thank everyone that took the time to enter. Doreen liked this one because Mikka's actually got herself between the flowers in the vase. It raises so many questions as to how, why, and did the flower arrangement stay intact?💐

The Thursford Collection tickets are on their way to your owner Mikka.📨

UPDATE

Beans had his surgery today and it went ok but he is staying in overnight just to ensure he's getting the best possible care and attention 24/7. 🤕🙏

**********************

Dear little Beans 🐈‍⬛came to us 9 weeks ago with his sister Toast. They'd both had cat flu and were in a really poorly way 😿

The Grove Veterinary Hospital did a wonderful job in looking after them until they were ready to come to us 😽 but both kittens have suffered damage to their left eyes, and although the sister Toast's eye is looking so much better, poor Beans' eye hasn't seen any improvement 😞. It doesn't seem to bother him though, and he still tears around like a typical kitten 😻

He's is such a lively, happy little kitten otherwise, but we've had the news today that his eye has got to be removed. The cost is going to be £1,300 😳 and our biggest fear is that because he's so young it could all be too much for him - that's more of a worry than the cost.

If you can please help us with the cost of Beans' surgery, we would be so very grateful ☺️and any amount helps, so please do not feel pressured into giving more than you can afford.

Our new page is 8 months old today and we reached 500 followers.😍

Thank you to all that follow us, for your kind words and ongoing support.

In a world that has some horrible things going on, we hope we can share a little joy.

While playing with Google the other day we managed to turn a picture of one of our diddy kittens into a muppet version. He is cute anyway but even cuter as a muppet!

MESSY KITTEN UPDATE

Smaller bowls! Who'd have thought. If they have food in smaller bowls the can't climb in them! OK it's not perfect but they are so much better.

****************

Enviously I look at images of fluffy kittens and wonder why the one's I'm fostering look such a mess. They are 5 weeks old and in the process of weaning. They eat their food by sitting in the bowl and getting their heads right in it all. No amount of wet cotton wool, flannels, toothbrushes is getting these little tikes clean and presentable. Most white fur is yellow from formula staining.

So I'm wondering what others who've gone through this phase have found works for them. I'd loved to hear you messy cat stories as well.

These little kittens are happy and healthy so it's not the end of the world that they look unkempt. I'm sure it won't be long before they become fastidiously clean.
