A wonderful caring team to work for 🤍 What an amazing job position!

Hello. Please share.

We Are Recruiting – Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN) x 3

Two positions are full-time day rota roles, with a 1-in-4 weekend commitment and occasional night nurse support (approximately three nights every 10 weeks). Recovery time around weekends and nights is, of course, first class.

One position is a fixed twilight shift: 3pm–11pm, Monday to Friday.

Vets 1 Group is a family-owned, independent veterinary business operating across two locations. Our main RCVS-accredited hospital sits just outside Downham Market, and in King’s Lynn we run our RCVS-accredited general practice. Both sites are beautiful, well-equipped, and full of high-quality kit. More importantly, they are packed with exceptional human beings — people who excel, who care, and who are genuinely something special.

Why are we hiring? Good question.

We are expanding. In 2025, our biggest area of growth was within the nursing team. In 2026, we expect the same.

Our nurse team currently numbers 32. It’s a mix of senior nurses with 20+ years’ experience, RVNs who joined us as school leavers and now have children of their own, nurses who left to explore elsewhere and chose to return, Chloe who is currently on sabbatical in Australia (back in April), and Evie returning around the same time — both very much missed.

There are many reasons to work here. We could list them — and they are what you would expect. Full private healthcare from day one (including your children). Excellent mental health support. Uncapped CPD. But really, there is one overriding reason.

Since Katharine launched this business on 1 May 2013, the ethos has been simple: the first time helping a family say goodbye to a much-loved pet feels like a transaction, we will quit.

Lock the door. Turn off the lights. Stop.

The DNA of this place is simple. We are not a business. We are a Veterinary Hospital.

🤍 Other options 🤍

Despite being less popular, we can also offer scatter pouches rather than tubes, and photo frames which hold your beloved animals remains behind the picture.

Again, as always, these are available in various sizes.

Please ask if you would like either of these options 🫶🏼

🤍Choosing the perfect option for your beloved companion 🤍

We offer a range of beautiful vessel options including wooden caskets with brass name plaques, eco scatter tubes, metal urns - with additional choices, like breed-specific keepsakes, available to order.

Every pet is unique. Their memorial should be too. 🐾

If you’d like to talk through the options, we’re always here to help. 🫶🏼

Hello All

We have seen last night’s Panorama programme and we are very aware of the conversations and concerns many pet owners are sharing this morning.

I grew up loving the James Herriot TV series. It was gentle, funny, kind and a firm favourite in our house. I was young, and little did I know that one day I would meet Katharine and well, here we are.

Those stories mattered because of the values they showed: care, compassion, community, doing your best with what you had.

James Herriot worked largely alone with his wife, a housekeeper, and a well-worn brown case. Modern veterinary care looks very different. Today it’s delivered by fully qualified veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, support teams, and back-office staff, all working together within a highly regulated environment to provide safe, accountable care.

What hasn’t changed is why vets and their teams do the job.

What has changed is what medicine can now do.

Because we are an independent, family-run practice, we have the freedom to make decisions based on values, not shareholders. That means being open about costs, protecting trust, and having honest conversations about options; without pressure.

We completely understand why people feel anxious about vet bills. The right answer is always open conversation, clear choices, and shared decision-making.

The heart of the profession hasn’t changed.

The medicine and the teams behind it have.

And we are always happy to talk.

🌈 Why We Do What We Do 🌈
At our pet crematorium, every single review means more to us than you know. ❤️

We don’t do this job because it’s easy — we do it because we care. When families trust us with their beloved pets, we make it our mission to give them the dignity, respect and gentle handling they deserve. 🐾

Reading your kind words, your thank-yous, and your stories reminds us exactly why we’re here. Your reviews reassure us that we’re making a heartbreaking moment just a little bit softer — and that truly makes all the difference.

So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for letting us walk beside you during one of the hardest goodbyes. Your trust is why we do what we do. 🤍🌈

Congratulations to a fantastic team! 🥳We’re so proud to play a part in your journey!

Congratulations to a fantastic team! 🥳

We’re so proud to play a part in your journey!

We are still absolutely overwhelmed and deeply honoured to share that Coastal Vets was awarded Veterinary Practice of the Year at last night’s Pet Plan Awards! 🏆✨

“Care, compassion, and going above and beyond for pets (and their owners)” were just some of the words used—and we couldn’t be more proud.

Chris, Clare, Serena, and Maddie made the trip to London for the ceremony, and here they are beaming with the award! 📸

To all our wonderful clients: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for trusting us with your furry, scaly, feathered, or fluffy family members. Your support allows us to do the job we truly love every single day. 💙🐾
