8 dogs between 8am and 1:30 today.
I am absolutely exhausted. I had to get home before 2pm to feed lambs, so thank goodness I had my little sidekick Indie to help with baths and brushes.

Just a little reminder to those of you who wish to have a regular schedule with me, please rebook at the end of your appointment or better yet, block book for the year.

I cannot guarantee a space anymore, so you really need to make sure you secure your spot asap. I don’t want you having to go off schedule and your dog risk getting matted.

For those of you who visit Hannah’s Hounds whilst on holiday - please don’t worry - allowances will be made during the holiday periods - indie will be joining me one day a week for extra baths and brushes and I’ll be working later on a few occasions.

“Natural Cuts”

Some owners prefer a more natural groom -often I’m asked for ‘scruffy’ but we don’t use that word around here 🤫

Natural cuts are perfect for dogs like Gus as he has a wire texture to his coat and it isn’t too curly, but it does get long and knotty. While the whole idea of the natural look is to eliminate that uniformed, I’ve-just-walked-out-of-the-groomers look, it can actually be harder to achieve. We need to know just the right amount to take off and where from, to achieve a finish that makes Gus look like he was “just born with it!”
In some ways we are aiming for uneven - which goes against pretty much everything in the grooming book of law! 🤣👌🏼

✂️ Gus had has a mixture of blue and peach comb attachments, a number 30 blade (very short) for his hygiene areas and sc******ng to his face and feet.

🐑 ⚠️ please don’t come at me with your curly coated doodles asking for this - they are doomed to a life of teddy bear 🧸 cuts and uniformed-ness thanks to their curls!! That’s if you brush… if not it’s 7f all over sadly!

Skipping into work today after a new client made my day yesterday by saying “oh we have been trying so hard to get in with you for ages, you’ve been well recommended by so many people!!”

I must admit I was very chuffed to say the least ☺️
