She is microchipped, but sadly the contact details are out of date, so we haven’t been able to reach her owner yet.

Monroe was an absolute pleasure to treat and such a brave girl. Thank you for trusting us with her care and for sharing this important reminder to get any lumps and bumps checked out! We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for clear margins and wishing her a smooth, speedy recovery! 🧡🐾

Today my awesome Girl Monroe had a pretty big operation to remove a cancerous tumour. We’ve now got the wait to see if the margins are clear and if it’s all gone 🤞

Firstly, a huge thank you to the incredible team at Corner House Vets for taking such amazing care of her today. The skill, kindness and reassurance they give to both dogs and owners makes such a difference.

Secondly, I wanted to share this as a reminder to fellow dog owners: if you find a lump, bump, or anything unusual on your dog, get it checked! Many lumps turn out to be harmless, but some aren’t – and the earlier they’re looked at, the better the options often are.
I almost didn’t mention it publicly, but if sharing our experience encourages even one person to get something checked sooner rather than later, it’s worth it.

She’s now home, very sleepy, and starting her recovery journey 🧡
Over the next couple of weeks I’ll also share a few things that might help others in similar situations, including:
🐾cooperative care exercises that help dogs cope better with check overs.
🐾enrichment ideas for dogs who need to rest and recover

For now, she’s getting lots of quiet time, cuddles, and careful monitoring.

Today we celebrate the incredible women who make Corner House what it is. ❤️

This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to be a veterinary team made up almost entirely of dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking women who care deeply for every animal that walks through our doors. From cats to camels, hamsters to horses, mice to macaws — between us, there’s not much we haven’t looked after!

Whether we’re comforting nervous pets or reassuring worried owners, our team will be always there for you with empathy and kindness. We’ll be there for the happy puppy & kitten visits, the routine check-ups, the unexpected emergencies and for the hardest moments. Veterinary medicine isn’t just our profession, it’s our passion.

So today we celebrate all the amazing women at Corner House and in veterinary medicine - the wonderful reception teams who welcome you and make sure your pet feels at home, the fantastic nurses and animal care assistants who give every patient the TLC they deserve, and the awesome vets who work tirelessly to keep them healthy.

🦷✨ Behind the Scenes with Teddy’s Dental! ✨🦷

Today we’re taking you behind the scenes of Teddy’s Stage 1 dental procedure and explaining why we stage dentals here at Corner House.

The good news? Teddy only needed a Stage 1 because we stepped in as soon as we spotted signs of gingivitis 👏 Early intervention really does make all the difference!

One of the biggest concerns with dental disease is pain. Dental pain in dogs is often silent. They’ll usually keep eating and acting normally even when their mouths are sore. Red gums, bad breath, dropping food, or chewing on one side can all be subtle signs. What we can see on the surface is often just the tip of the iceberg.

💡 Prevention and early treatment help avoid more advanced disease, extractions, and ongoing discomfort, and it’s much kinder on your pet (and your wallet!) in the long run.

Staff Pet Day at Corner House!
Jessica's Toy Poodle Teddy 🐾 had a dental and Jade's Rabbit Bambi 🐇 was spayed. Bambi's friend Bob just came for the ride and chilled out in the kennel whilst he waited for her!
Jessica is our Veterinary Care Assistant and Jade is our Student Veterinary Nurse. They both give your furry friends lots love and cuddles whilst within our care!

It’s been a while, but we’ve missed you! The team at Corner House has been busy caring for pets in the clinic and welcoming new team members! We realise we haven’t said 'hi' on Facebook in too long. ❤️With great sadness, we share with you the terrible news that our friend and colleague, Annie Sterry, died earlier this week, following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year. ❤️

Annie has been the smiling face of Corner House for over a decade, and many of you will know her well, of course. Her compassion and humour shone through in her work here - she was always on-hand to help and guide clients, always there with hugs and treats to help the pets feel at home, and has been an absolute rock for the rest of the team - with tea, heartfelt support, and many, many laughs.❤️

Annie - we will miss you every day. ❤️

Our thoughts are with Annie’s family at this, the saddest of times. ❤️
