It’s with great sadness I’ve decided not post anymore, after me posting a short video of the grumpy little hoglet and gently touching him, it was supposed to show how difficult he was to handle. He needed syringe feeding and toileting as he wasn’t old enough to do so on his own. But being accused of poking him for no reason, of cruelty and causing him unnecessary stress. This has really upset me as all I’ve ever done is try and help them and all I will ever do.

Then 2 little hoglets found along Days Pottles at the side of the road by a lovely guy, he search for others but couldn’t find any but today he went back to have another look, I’m so glad he did and found 2 more along walking in the road, they are very lucky hoglets. Hoglets are very hard work needing syringe feeding and toileting.

Yesterday the little nightmare properly the grumpiest, stroppiest hoglet only 100g found wandering in finders garden looking for mum sadly a sibling had already past.

Another busy weekend with Saturday seeing 3 hogs being admitted. First was Ashleigh who has been here before as a baby but has struggled with hibernation and is very underweight and has the usual parasites. Next is the extremely poorly Midnight with he horrible flystrike luckily for her she was found before they had hatch. Fly eggs are such a nightmare to remove every rescuers nightmare. Then Twilight seen acting acting strangely lying out in the day.

This is getting scary another beautiful hog put to sleep today which came in missing a rear back leg smelling of infection poor baby must have been in agony. This was most likely caused by strimmer and people just being too lazy to check🤯😡

With beginning so busy I forgot to say that Houdini and Hedge when home looking very chubby and sorry again I forgot to take photos. So it wasn’t all doom and gloom. 🙏🙏💙🤞🦔🦔

On a brighter note Daphne has given birth, I’m not sure how many hoglets she has because as soon as I saw one I covered them back up and left her in peace as I didn’t want her to abandon them. Luckily she was at the end of her treatment. 🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔

A hard few days and very busy weekend with 8 hedgehogs coming in over the weekend but sadly 3 had to be put to sleep, 1st had been attacked by a badger, the 2nd had probably been hit by a car with bad facial injuries and the 3rd was just so poorly and wasn’t responding to any treatment and not really showing any signs of life, sometimes it’s just the right thing do. 2 others sadly died despite by best efforts. All the hedgehogs coming in at the moment are extremely poorly having struggled through winter and need intensive care.

This poor boy was found in a culvert full of water unable to escape. Luckily for him a lovely lady rescue him and brought him straight to me wrapped in towels and hot water bottles. W**d removed and onto,a heat pad with lots of blankets to warm and dry. He also has a heavy burden of fluke and is very thin. So it’s fingers crossed for this boy🙏🙏🦔☘️🤞🤞
