New boy Ricardo seen out about in the day for a few days. Please remember out in the day is not ok, always check with a rescue if your not sure. The only exception are pregnant females and she will be moving with purpose just getting bedding or food and straight back to her nest not just pottering or laying around.

The mum and babies that I reunited after a badger destroyed their house and they ended up in 2 separate gardens went off to their new home today the lovely Eileen’s hedgehog friendly garden. The babies are on the verge of independence so hopefully mum can teach them to cope in the wild.

Poor little girl arrived with millions of fleas it must have felt horrible for her there was blood all over her spines from she’s been bitten. She’s all snuggled up now and flea free.

Mum and 2 babies rescued yesterday after some how getting separated by a fence and a trench in 2 different gardens. Safely reunited and have come in for a few days R&R and then will go to a hedgehog friendly garden a couple doors away.

Wanted. A willing volunteer with a very safe & secure garden to take on a young hedgehog. This hedgehog suffered a head trauma which has delayed his development & as a result will not eat the standard range of food that is given to young hedgehogs in captivity. He has been raised on a wide variety of different foods, none that he would find in the natural habitat. We therefore need to see if he would be able to find the right foods naturally. The right person would give him a safe temporary home & be willing to check on him & weigh him regularly to check that he is eating by finding natural food. If he proves that he can put on weight then he would be releasable next spring. Being male he will probably hibernate when the colder weather arrives.

I have a few hedgehogs coming up for a release they are looking for hedgehog friendly safe gardens where they will be support fed and watered.
