Christmas Premier Open Show

Saturday 6th December 2025

I would like to thank the committee for their invitation and the exhibitors not only for their entries but for journeying out on such a horrible day weather-wise.

Collie (Smooth)

PG (4, 1 abs) 1. RBoB & BP Coldee Take It To the Limit (Denton) just shy of 9 months old this youngster was quite the showman. Masculine in profile with a good stride and balance on the move. Whilst he does need some finishing he is exactly where I would like him to be at this age without being overdone.

2.Blamorder Side Hustle with Mournebrake (Thomas)

Another smart youngster, whose examination mirrored his movement and didn’t disappoint when on the move or presenting for examination.

Well presented a narrow margin between 1& 2 imagine they will swap places often through their showing career.

3.Shulune Imperial Bonny Blu (Rundle)

OPEN (2,1 abs) 1st & BoB Ch. Coneypark Golden Brown (Beeney) This 5 year old bitch is a joy, unfazed and a pleasure to go over and watch on the move. Stood alone today but her silhouette alone is enough to show her quality.

PG (2,0 abs) 1st & RBOB Frostisen Blakk Zeta (IKC)

(Frost, Frost-Treadwell & Walmsley) 4 year old quality bitch good texture to coat and tail was good in both placement and hold. Moved with purpose and drivewell deserving of the res BOB.

2.& BP Kimura’s Ola Normann (IMP NOR) (Dosson) 8 month old male shown in beautiful condition, stood and presented well and looked quite the trooper on the move.

Open (6,3 bs)1st & Bob Trelowen Amelia at Frostisen (Frost, Frost-Treadwell & Walmsley) hard to believe this bitch is 8 years old

2 & B.o.S Frostisen Blakk Zitter (Taylor3 Frost-Treadwell) sister to1st in PG with many of the same qualities I prefered the sister on the move today though.

3.Ch. Leggatts Jive Talkin (Crocker)This is a bitch I have often admired from ringside but not judged before. Today wasnot to be the day either, troubled by something either inside or outside the ring she was a little upset at me going over her and rather than upset her any further I enjoyed her rapport with her handler and excellent movement. This placing is certainly no comment on her overall quality but just a reflection on the day.

PG (2,0 abs)1.Mournebrake Hidden Agenda with Keynell

(Rathband & Feely) barely 18 months and yet well developed, nicely corded and better texture to coat than sister.

2.Mournebrake Nine Days Queen at Celebros (Gracie) sister to 1 and little to choose between them on the day coat slightly softer and not as corded as sister.

Open (2,0 abs) 1& BoB Ch.Catsun Comanche Legacy ShCEx VW (Sharpe & Dyer) 9 year old dog almost to the day but you wouldn’t believe it the way he moved, sound construction and well corded textured coat.

2nd & RBoB Mournebrake Pretty Little Angel Eyes at Celebros (Gracie) another well-bred bitch who really took my eye unfortunately the resultsof the bad weather went against her during the class challenge. Well-presented she could have very much been in contention as her movement was sound and a beautiful expression.

PG (1,0 abs) 1& RBoB, Bellpins Rhythm is a Dancer (Godfrey) 2 year old bitch, solid in body and good head. Strident on the move

OPEN (3,0 abs) 1& BoB Blacktide Bolts Son Among Schnaubern HR JR (Smee & Coleman)18months old this dog presents well for both examination and exhibition. Took well to the ring but would certainly have liked to see him in a bigger one where he could really of shown his stride and economy on the move.

2. Heathbank Dorcia (Roberts) 3 year old bitch another bitch that was good on the move. Some clearing to do but nothing you wouldn’t expect to see on a young bitch.

1st BUSTERLEIGH KINDA MAGIC JW ShCEx OSW (Mr S Vosper). 2 year old red and white masculine dog with plenty of character. Correct brick shaped head and small rose ears. Nicely placed nose with big nostrils. A well padded foreface with a great turn of width of underjaw. Well off for bone and strong barrel ribs. Moved out well. BOB.
2nd CAPTAINBULL I’M BRONSON (Miss Hanvey). 4 year old red and white dog who was slightly smaller than number 1 but still so much quality. Brick shaped head, finely wrinkled with correct eyes, spaced apart. Well padded foreface and large nostrils. Pleasing length of neck into strong body that is well off for bone. RBOB.

1st AVAWORD LILLIE (Davy & Conibere). 6 year old red and white bitch who was a clear winner today despite standing alone. Nice brick shaped skull that was in proportion, finely wrinkled with small, rose ears and dark eyes. Well cushioned cheeks and she keeps her depth through her muzzle. Nicely placed nose with large nostrils. Balance throughout and moved out well.

Nicely arched neck into well placed shoulders and sloping topline with correct tail placement. Beautifully turned out with a nice, harsh jacket. Moved with the required reach and drive. BOB.
2nd WLANIMU’S MARKED FOR GREATNESS NAF TAF (Mrs T Beckson). 7 month old smart B&S dog who showed with purpose. Correct ear set and eye colour. Nice length of neck into strong shoulders with a sloping topline and harsh jacket. Moved out well. BP.

1st TAMMUX AFTER DUSK (Mrs T Beckson). 17 month old B&S dog who was balanced throughout. Correct head proportions and scissor bite. Nice length of neck into well placed shoulders. Harsh jacket and beautiful outline. Moved out well.
2nd WLANIMU’S JOINTLY TO YOUR SUCCESS WITH TAMMUX (Imp). 14 month old B&S bitch. Nice head with dark eye and correct ear set. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders and short ribbed with sloping topline. Harsh jacket and turned out well. Moved correctly around the ring.

1st RICOX I’LL LOVE YOU AS YOU ARE (Mrs J Rice). 19 month old gold sable bitch with a black mask and beautiful expression. Feminine head with correct dentition, correct eye and ear set. Nice reach of neck into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest and well ribbed. Moved correctly in all directions. I have previously awarded this bitch best puppy and can see she has matured into a beautiful example. Clever breeder. BOB.
2nd LACORAL ANYA (Miss H Smith). 14 month gold bitch with a black mask and plenty of quality throughout. Feminine head with good eye and ear placement. Nice arch of neck into well placed shoulders and correct topline. Moved out well in all directions.

2nd CH RICOX SOMEBODY TO LOVE JW ShCM ShCEx VW OSW (Mrs J Rice). 9 year old gold bitch with black mask and continues to not show her age. Beautiful expression with correct dentition and ear set. Nicely arched neck into strong shoulders with level topline. Moved out well in all directions.

2nd ITZAPROMISE PAWLET (Mrs Golley). 21 month old black bitch who was balanced throughout. Nice expression with correct bite and ear leathers being the desired length. Nice, elegant neck into well placed shoulders. Moved out well.

2nd IZADORAH NOIR DE NOIR (Mrs R Mayne). 8 year old black bitch with correct ear length and almond shape eyes. Nice neck into good front assembly with level topline. Moved out well.

Pleased with the quality of the breeds sent through to the group.

Group 1 – Maddidalli True Loves Kiss (Dalmatian) (Mrs H Davies). 17 month old black spotted bitch. Moderate type with elegance combined. Correct head proportions with dark eye and scissor bite. Well broken ears. Nicely arched neck into well laid shoulders and level topline leading onto correct tailset. Scored highly in feet and overall substance. Looked beautiful in profile and on the move. Dark pigment with clear spotting on a bright, white background. My notes read “could easily trot behind a carriage all day”. Happy to award Group 1 then later on hear she went onto get RBIS.

Handling critique from Brenda Randle.
Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge these classes. Sadly storm Darragh intervened and there were some absentees, but thank you all for combined entry of 32!
Please watch corners , this applied to some, and walking between your dog and the judge.
Breed knowledge was good and in older classes points of the dog was fair.

6-11 Years.
1st Libby Rycroft handling a dachs , good quiet handler, paid attention to where I was standing. Good breed knowledge.
2nd Anastasia Voutsis handling a cotton de tulear, another good handler, good breed knowledge also .
3rd Evie May Smart handling a sheltie , after I Iearnt is new to handling , unfortunately went between myself and her dog, but one to watch.
12 - 16 Years.
1st Thomas Taylor, handling a scottish terrier, another handler who has good knowledge.
2nd Avrora Predmeistina, handling a golden retriever, another new to handling, just needs a bit more points of dog knowledge, I'm sure will do well in the future.
17 - 39 Year
1st Chloe Clark handling a Irish setter, very good handler, moved dog at correct pace for breed, didn't over handle,points of dog knowledge very good, Best adult handler congratulations.
2nd Paige Edens handling a dalmatian, another good handler , also knew points of dog well. Splitting hairs between these two.
3rd Tieryn Clark handling an old english sheepdog , good handler again but knowledge let her down today.
40+ Years.
1st Anita Skinner handling a l/c chi, Good handler, watched for my positioning ,knowledge good also.
2nd Caroline Gammon handling a vizla, good handler, good knowledge.
3rd Tanya Keats handling a mini schnauzer , good knowledge but new to handling, with more practice should do well.
Nice touch from E.C.A , all placed had a selection box too !

My thanks to the society for inviting me to judge today and my thanks too for the exhibitors who braved the dreadful weather conditions of Storm Darragh so there were lots of absentees in all breeds mine included but I really enjoyed my day and was well looked after.

Golden Retrievers
Puppy Dog 5 (3abs)
1. Winsor-Williams & Williams Aurgentious Mena DHU. Lovely gold coated boy of 8 months. Attractive head, good flow of neck into well laid shoulders, good bone and feet and moved well to take BPIB.
2. Winsor, Williams & Williams Aurgentious Dearov IM. Litter brother to above, not so together as above but a very nice puppy.

Grad Dog 6 (5abs)
1. Porter Mrs M & Miss S. Shearstone Janner. Although stood along a worthy winner. Well made throughout he is maturing nicely, in good coat and condition and moved well on strong legs and feet to be my BD and ResBOB today.

Limit Dog 10 (7abs)
1. Lees Mr P & Mrs J. Calacarey Follows The Sun To Denmarella. This boy caught my eye as he entered the ring. In rich gold coat that gleamed, a lovely masculine head into good shoulders, level topline, straight front and moved well. Close up for BD
2. Henson Mr K. Cinderbank Move It. Attractive dog in good coat and condition, well made throughout but did not move as well as my winner.

Open Dog 1 (1abs)

Puppy Bitch 4 (3 abs)
1. Wreford-Brown Mrs J & Mr C. Kenleap Aphrodite. Pretty headed puppy of 9 months. In between coats at the moment but well made throughout.

Grad Bitch 4 (1abs)
1. Collis Mrs W. Tillsun Mistletoe Promises. My start of the day. Lovely pale gold girl of immense quality. Pretty head, good neck and shoulders, straight front, level topline and good bone and feet. My best mover of the day, presented a very pleasing picture of total balance and moved effortlessly to be my BOB. Delighted to watch her shortlisted in a large Gundog group.
2. Porter Mrs M & Miss S. Shearstone Dilly Gaff. Dark gold bitch, well made throughout and moved OK but not with the drive of my winner.

Limit Bitch 7 (6abs)

Puppy 3 (1abs)
1. Lewis Mrs S & Miss M. Fairwinds Blooming Wild. Very appealing 8 month young lady of immense promise, full of quality and has a lovely outgoing personality, so well made throughout, nice moulded head and a good accurate mover so pleased to watch her go Gundog Puppy Group 3. One to watch for the future.

2. Holden Miss H. Fairwinds Flowertot. Litter sister to above. Not as mature and lacking body at the moment and needs more coat. Moved well.


Post Grad 3 (1abs)
1. McCammick Mrs R. Montegrino Pied Piper For Saffdales. Attractive young lady with great personality. Good body, nice head, well made throughout and moved and showed well in this class but in the challenge was not co-operating with her handler so had to settle for RBOB.

2. Moxey Mr M & Mrs D. A smaller, finer made girl with less maturity than my winner. Moved well.

Open Dog 1
1. May Mrs S. Ronevorg Dark Angel At Lussac. This dog just shouts look at me and has a typical Flatcoat attitude to life. In excellent coat and condition, a lovely moulded head, straight front, good bone but still has that lovely outline and he moved really well. A close decision in the challenge but he came away with BOB. One I liked a lot.

Open Bitch 3 (1abs)
1. Same as Post Grad.
2. Moxey Mr M & Mrs D. Lussac Xpress Yourself At Dymexe. A good outline on this girl but not the overall construction of my winner. Moved well.

Looking forward to judging Pastoral breeds & the graduate stakes tomorrow, thank you all for the entries.
I just need to let you know that I have lost a very close family member this morning so I may be a bit puffy eyed & occasionally teary!
