Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA)

Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA) Little Valley is a self-funded branch of the RSPCA based in Exeter, Devon. Reg Charity No: 205154
(316)

Little Valley Animal Shelter is owned and run by the South, East and West Devon Branch of the RSPCA and is located on the outskirts of Exeter. The Shelter, founded in 1991, supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming over 1000 of the neediest animals from our local area every year. Little Valley’s running costs are in the region of £10,000 per week and, although we are p

roud to be affiliated with the RSPCA, sadly we receive no automatic funding and we therefore have to rely totally on local support from our own community to fund our vital animal welfare work. All animals stay at the Shelter until they are adopted into caring, responsible homes. A homechecker visits every prospective owner and follow-up checks are made to ensure the animal is well and settled. The Shelter can accept a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, aviary birds, farm animals and equines. We also hold wildlife, pending their transfer to RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton. Animals are only put to sleep on veterinary advice or because of incurable behavioural problems.

Does anybody recognise this cat?

We have been made aware of a cat around Hillyfield Road, Exeter that we are concerned may be a stray. They are tabby, domestic shorthair cat, but we are unsure on their gender. We haven’t been able to approach the cat to scan for a microchip or paper collar.

If this is your cat, or know who owns this cat, please contact the shelter on 01392 439898 or [email protected]

Binky is a beautiful lady with a unique story to tell. Having just one eye certainly doesn’t slow her down, but she is a sensitive soul who is looking for a very special home where she can feel safe, secure, and loved on her own terms.

Binky enjoys the company of people once she gets to know them. However, she can be easily frightened by sudden noises, unfamiliar situations, and too much activity around her. Because of this, she is looking for a calm home where she can have her own dedicated room to settle into at her own pace. She will also need plenty of cosy hiding spots and safe places to retreat to whenever she feels overwhelmed.

Binky could live with one sensible teenager who understands the importance of giving her space and allowing her to build confidence gradually.

Anyone considering Binky should understand that she may never become a cuddly lap cat. While she may enjoy companionship and being near her people, she is likely to show affection in quieter, more subtle ways. The right adopter will appreciate her for who she is and take joy in the small but meaningful moments of trust she offers.

In return, Binky will reward a patient and understanding owner with the privilege of watching her blossom in a home where she feels truly safe. With time, Binky’s rewarding personality will shine through.

🐾 Still waiting... and still wonderful. 🐾

Handsome TJ is still searching for the forever home he deserves.

At around 8 years old, TJ is a gentle soul who may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him some time and you'll discover a friendly, affectionate boy who loves company, fuss and attention from his favourite people.

When he's not enjoying a cuddle, you'll often find him exploring, playing, or rolling around in catnip with complete abandon! 🌿🐱

TJ would love a home with a garden where he can enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by. He'd prefer to be your only pet, but could potentially live with a calm, gentle child of secondary school age.

We've got a feeling the right person is out there somewhere. Could TJ be the missing piece in your family?

🏡 Find out more about TJ and apply online:

Please share to help TJ find his forever home. ❤️🐾

☀️ It’s a hot one out there… and while many of us are soaking up the sunshine, our lovely Winnie is still patiently waiting for someone to open their heart and home to her 🐱💛

Winnie has been with us for a little while now, and we really can’t understand why.

She may need a little time to settle into new surroundings, but once she feels safe and comfortable, Winnie absolutely blossoms. She’ll greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, and become your very own little shadow 🥹

Winnie is looking for a calm adult home where she can adjust at her own pace, with no children or other pets, plus access to the outdoors so she can come and go as she pleases.

If you’ve been thinking about welcoming a loyal feline companion into your life, could Winnie be the one? 💕
