Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA)

Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA) Little Valley is a self-funded branch of the RSPCA based in Exeter, Devon. Reg Charity No: 205154
(317)

Little Valley Animal Shelter is owned and run by the South, East and West Devon Branch of the RSPCA and is located on the outskirts of Exeter. The Shelter, founded in 1991, supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming over 1000 of the neediest animals from our local area every year. Little Valley’s running costs are in the region of £10,000 per week and, although we are p

roud to be affiliated with the RSPCA, sadly we receive no automatic funding and we therefore have to rely totally on local support from our own community to fund our vital animal welfare work. All animals stay at the Shelter until they are adopted into caring, responsible homes. A homechecker visits every prospective owner and follow-up checks are made to ensure the animal is well and settled. The Shelter can accept a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, aviary birds, farm animals and equines. We also hold wildlife, pending their transfer to RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton. Animals are only put to sleep on veterinary advice or because of incurable behavioural problems.

This lovely lady is 4 year old Twilight and she's a real sweetie.
Twilight can be a little timid at first with new people, once she knows you well she friendly and affectionate and enjoys a gentle fuss from her human friends. She is looking for a nice quiet home with owners who are willing to give her time and patience to settle in at her own pace. She also can be a little chatter box at times and will start to purr if she really likes you. Twilight does not like other cats or dogs so will need to be the only one in the home. She may be able to live in a family with a chid of secondary school age, pending a meet at the shelter.

Fabulous Lulu is in the care of our Cornwall Rspca Cornwall Branch so please see her details below and apply for her by following the link in her description below.

🐾 Meet 'famous' Lulu – Your Next Loyal Bestie! 🐶

Lulu’s got that Friday feeling and she’s flashing her irresistible “tickle my tummy” eyes just for you! 😍 She is also very excited to tell you that she is now a media star 🌟! Check out the Sun Newspaper online detailing her search for a new home (and also featuring dogs from around Britain who need to find their forever home): https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/35997769/britains-loneliest-dogs-forever-homes/

This gorgeous girl is:
✔️ Affectionate & Friendly – Lulu loves people, cuddles, and attention.
✔️ House Trained – She's lived in a home and knows the ropes.
✔️ A Car Companion – She travels well and settles down nicely.
✔️ Smart & Food-Motivated – Great for training and building bonds.

Lulu has also enjoyed her time with a lovely foster family and is used to home life. Indoors, she is calm and loves a good nap or some toy time. Outdoors, she walks well on a lead while wearing her muzzle and enjoys a good sniff and stroll.

🏡 Her Ideal Home:

A pet-free household with a secure garden for play

Owners who are happy to meet her a few times before adoption

People confident in managing her training and needs

A calm environment where she can follow a steady routine

Lulu can be reactive to some dogs, so she will need to stay on lead and muzzled when out. But don’t worry — full support and a training plan are provided to help her succeed. With the right structure and patience, she truly thrives and has even made doggy friends at the centre! 🐕

Lulu’s heart is big, and she’s ready to share it with someone special. Could that be you?

This big, beautiful boy is called Jake and he is about 9 years old. Despite his size, he is not the bravest soul and will need a quiet home with patient new owners who will give him the time he needs to find his feet. Once he has had a chance to settle, he is a gentle, friendly boy who enjoys fuss and attention from his human friends. He also loves to play with his rod toy, especially after a roll in some nice, fresh catnip. We feel that Jake may be able to live in a family with children of secondary school age pending a meet at the shelter. Jake would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

We have unfortunately had a deceased large black female domestic short haired cat handed in to us today. She was found on Tedburn road, Exeter.

Sadly we could not locate a microchip to inform her owner.

Please contact us if you think this is your cat.

🌻 Introducing Princess

Princess will need a calm, gentle home with someone who is understanding of her needs. She’s still learning about the world and would be best suited to patient adopters who can offer her reassurance, stability and lots of love.
Princess has come so far since she arrived here at Little Valley, although she can still be nervous in new situations she is learning to trust and has built a great relationship with some of the staff here.
We know that in the right home Princess will thrive and become a fantastic companion, all she needs now is to find her perfect match.
Princess will need to be the only dog in the home and she will not be able to share her home with a cat. She may be able to live with calm older children pending a meet here at the shelter.
Princess truly deserves a fresh start – could you be the one to show her what it means to feel safe and loved?
Please fill out a Perfect Match form today! -
