Why is staying on a regular grooming schedule with the same groomer important especially with dogs who have a history of grooming related anxiety or reactivity. A dog that gets groomed on a regular schedule it becomes part of their routine which makes it less scary, the groomer gets to know the dog their triggers and their quirks and it also means severe matting is less likely and matting is painful to remove which can heighten fear in already anxious dogs. A regression in behaviour can be dangerous to both dog and groomer as this is when bites and accidental nicks are more likely to happen which we dont want so please where possible keep your dogs to a grooming schedule
