Peaceful Kennels

Peaceful Kennels Home of professional greyhound trainer, Dave Lee, who is currently attached to Romford Stadium

Peaceful Kennels is home of Professional Greyhound Trainer Dave Lee, having recently moved from his former base at Ockendon Kennel Complex. The Kennels have undergone major re-development since the start of the year, with plenty of work still in progress to bring Peaceful Kennels to its maximum potential. There is a schooling track on site, and we hope this will be up and running by early April! W

e are currently attached to Sittingbourne Stadium who race 3 nights a week on BAGS (Thurs/Sat/Sun) shown live in all Betting Shops. We also supply graded runners to Harlow on a Friday night, which has a unique noisy hare. If you would like to know more about our set up and the services on offer please call Dave Lee on 07993 563 784 or alternatively message us on here.

A bittersweet day today as we wave RUBY RUSO off to go home with her racing owner Steve.

Ruby has been part of the furniture here at Peaceful Kennels for a number of years. She raced with us at Romford and Harlow, and gave us all something to scream about when she won her final race at Harlow in December last year!

Ruby will be greatly missed at the kennels, especially her cuddles! We wish Ruby the best of luck in her forever home, although she doesn’t need it as we know she will be the best pet ever! ❤️🐶

It's time for our monthly round up for May...

At the end of May our yearly totals had reached 161 overall winners, of which 72 wins have come from greyhounds bred at Peaceful kennels.

In May we had 21 winners in total, 9 of these were from our homebred hounds. We are without a dog of the month for May as AMAZING CHOICE and WELL REEM both managed 2 wins each, so we will rollover and have a combined dog of the month for May and June.

We had 4 wins this month in D1 and Open Race Grades making these our most successful grades this month.

In terms of performances so far this year, WELL REEM currently leads the way as the most successful greyhound in our kennel as he has won 8 races in total so far.

It's hard to pick a top moment from May but we think it will have to go to SPECIAL STORY beating category one winner and now track record holder Brinkleys Poet over 380 at Crayford.

This leads on nicely to our next point, in June we will be waving Harlow goodbye as we begin grading the dogs on at Crayford where we will now be based. Hopefully there will be lots more winners and lots of other exciting things to come, watch this space...

April was another successful month for all involved at Peaceful Kennels as we racked up 36 wins throughout the month and our yearly total is current at 140 wins. 62 of those wins have come from greyhounds born at Peaceful Kennels.

A major highlight of the month was LOTTIES ROCKET aka Oscar reaching the Gymcrack Final. Oscar kicks off his derby campaign on Thursday this week, unfortunately he has drawn trap 4 but he is in a 4 dog qualifier so we are hoping he can progress through to the next round.

Our most prolific winner in April was CHASING SHADOWS who managed to win 3 times throughout the month. Two of her wins were in D3 and one was in D2 company. She is therefore our hound of the month for March!

Most of our wins his month came in A5 grade; we had 8 wins in this grade in total! Followed by 7 wins in D2 and 6 wins in D3.

SPIRO KING and WELL REEM are still leading the way on the most wins so far this year, each of them have 6 wins to their name!

We are hoping that May can be another successful month for us, we kick off tonight with 3 runners at Crayford!

It’s time for our March review...

March was our least successful month so far this year as we had the fewest winners, 32 in total. However March was the month in which we broke the 100 winners for the year barrier, and what a 100th winner it was. Homebred RODING REGAL aka Sable, landed the £1000 mega owners bonus series final! We finished March with 104 winners in total, 46 of which have come from hounds bred here at Peaceful Kennels.

Most of our wins in March came from A6 grade with 7 out of the 32 being A6 victories. Our most successful dog this month was WELL REEM who clocked up 3 victories all in D1 company.

As promised our dog/bitch of the month was a roll over for February and March, in the end WELL REEM and CANINE CLASS ended up tied on 4 wins each!

We have now completed the first quarter of the year and we are very pleased with how the new racing schedule is panning out for us so far.

Unfortunately we have also had to announce the retirement of some of our peaceful hounds this month. SPECIAL GROOVE and CASTLEPALOOZA have both been retired and are now looking for their forever homes with our partner rehoming group Peaceful Pets - Retired Greyhounds.

Unfortunately last nights meeting at Harlow was abandoned after the hare stopped in Race 4. Nevertheless we had a good start to the night when Hugo aka SPECIAL BIG MIKE (pictures below) landed the first race of the night.

Overall February has treated us well, we had 35 winners in total taking our yearly tally up to 74. Most of our wins this month came in A6 and D3 grades. We have a number of dogs that racked up 2 wins this month, so we are without a single dog of the month. So we are going to let this rollover to March and take a combined total for February and March to decide our dog of the month for March.

Lots to look forward to in March as DROOPYS STEPHAN lines up in the Springbok final on Friday night and CORRIN BOYSHANE kicks off his Golden Sprint campaign.

This week’s double winning kennel was SPECIAL SENNEN and SPECIAL REDHOT, who coincidentally take each other on in an A5 on Monday night!

We have also reached 50 winners so far in 2018 in just 39 days (Currently on 54)!

Our 50th winner came in the form of promising young pup SWIFT ALLIANCE!
