Today whilst on a day off work, I rushed around ticking off chores from my list (you know, THE list!- the one that never seems to get any smaller) The list of responsibilities that each and every adult has to face sooner or later- be it in their memory or written down on paper.

As I glanced at the state of the overgrown garden before me (no puns intended 😂) I reluctantly added "mow the lawn" to the list of chores. Whilst focused on all of the chores (tidy the garden, pop to the farm to pick up the veg ect.) I couldn't help but stop for a moment to breathe in nature.

This wonderful planet of ours has so much beauty to offer us, if we just empty our minds and forget about the list and the hustle and bustle for a bit. The list can wait- nature won't!

From the Mo Chara workshop, we've been enjoying watching the sheep graze and frolic in the fields of the Fermanagh hills. Spring is most definitely on it's way and along with the blooming of the bright yellow daffodils comes an incredibly important day- Mothering Sunday!

What could be a better gift to receive (other than world peace, of course) than a beautifully handcrafted bespoke Memory Bead encapsulating a special memory. A child's first curl? A piece of fabric from the garment of a loved one? A tuft of fur from a beloved pet? The possibilities to create something completely personal and unique are plentiful.

I'll be taking a break from the "creation station" 😂 for a few months in the new year so will cease taking orders via my usual Amazon or Etsy on Christmas Eve until mid February due to work commitments. In the meantime, only 2 more sleeps until we choose a winner for a free Memory Bead. Good luck x

As 'tis the season of goodwill, I'm running another competition at Mo Chara Creations (I know! As if December isn't exciting enough, right?) These tiny beads hide a tiny but very special memory. Can you guess what it is?

I have so many people mention how they would have loved something like this to hold a memory of a loved one they have lost a long time ago had they had known the possibility of resin inclusion at the time.

Grief is a long process and the reality is, although it gets easier over time due to acceptance, the loss and pain of no longer having that loved one close by lingers forever. They are and will forever be missed. Ingrained on your absolute being. I'm in no way suggesting that Memory Beads hold the power to make everything all better but they do possess a comfort. Like wearing the ring of a loved one and allowing your mind to drift back to a memory of them too wearing that same ring as a smile beams across your face. You of course still miss them, but having something related or belonging to them so close by, has a great healing power. Almost like a comfort blanket. A little anchor of strength. A lucky charm. A piece of them.

These beads hold fabric. Fabric from the blouse of a beautiful, head-strong, kind and caring woman. A woman I was proud to call my Nana😊

A new design completed this morning. This is a lock of hair tied by a piece of coloured ribbon. A lovely way to keep the memory of someone special close and a great way to add a splash of colour to a bracelet or chain.

We're trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use at Mo Chara Creations so from now on, our orders will come in reusable round screw top tins. Perfect for storing homemade lip balm!
