Putting Paddy to good use before his athletes all start back at the weekend. CUBC's pursuit of another clean sweep at the 2026 Boat Races starts officially on Saturday morning.

It's National Dog Day, so what better time to ask for your help.

Do you have pictures/paintings of your dogs? Can you recommend the person who did them for you?

We have a beautiful pair of portraits of Riley and Cooper - the original Developing Dogs - done by Amy Spittle Art but she is no longer doing portraits as far as I can tell.

I'd like to get ones of Buzz and Woody done too.

Can you share ones you have of your dogs, and the artist who did them?

Oh I do hate to moan, especially as picking up poo is part and parcel of running an enclosed field, but today I picked up 3 large poos alongside Woody's Fountain and 3 more in the car park.

All of them no more than a few hours old, at most. In this weather they dry out in no time so it's easy to tell relative age 😉

I've noticed an increase in missed poos in the last few months, especially a regular large deposit from the same dog. Please keep an eye out and make sure you pick up after your dogs. Key areas seem to be around the Fountain, in the trees in the far corner, and in the car park.

In happier news, the blackberries are ready, and delicious. Just remember to pick above the 'p*e line' 😋🤣

We started our checks this morning in sunshine; storm clouds gathered by the end of our walk.

Huge thanks to Solar Gate Systems as always for their annual service of our field entrance and exit gates.

We have solar gates to improve the accessibility of our fields for all users; you don't have to get out of the car, or fiddle with padlocks to enter or exit. This means wheelchair users, and others with limited mobility / dexterity are able to visit without needing someone else to come with them. We have supplied remote access controls to some of our regular users to make things even easier.

If there is anything we can do to make your life easier when using our fields please let us know.
