Please note that I require as much notice as possible for cancellations. This enables me to be able to offer the appointment out to another customer so I don't have a loss of earnings on that date.
Last minute cancellations and no shows, make it impossible for me to do this.

We all need to cancel appointments at times and I appreciate that emergencies can crop up.

Going forwards ...

Please give me 48 hrs notice if you need to cancel.
Any cancellation less than 24 hours or no shows need to be paid in full. Future bookings will not be made or kept until that payment is made.

I am sorry for my direct tone and being blunt.
As I am finding it difficult to run my business when consideration isn't taken into account on how last minute cancellations/ no shows affect my business.

Many thanks Charlaine

Hello all 🫑

I will probably get in trouble somehow for saying this ...however I'm going to say it.
Lots of you , my lovely customers often fill me in on how your dogs are doing and ask my opinion which food to give to your dogs , teeth cleaning etc. You often tell me of tummy upsets , skin allergies and ear infections.
When I ask what you are feeding your dogs. I get told you are feeding them butternut box.
I see so many ads rating this food, and how fussy dogs love it and can't wait to eat it etc etc. Buuuuuuut not only is this food mega expensive to feed your dogs on, I am almost certain it is the main culprit for all these conditions you complain of.
You are then faced with extensive vet bills to deal with the allergens it's causing.
My advice would be to steer clear of this food. Unless you have a dog with a cast-iron stomach. In which case they don't need an overrated and over priced food.
As a side note I don't feed any chicken related products to my dogs. After literally spending thousands on my poodle who suffered 2 very severe cases of colitis , after removing chicken from her diet . She is now in perfect health.
Chicken is one of the main culprits of yeast infections . This is often seen in dogs that have yellow scabby patches on their skin. A yellow wax in their ears , red paws that they lick and very often swollen sore bottoms . Tear stained eyes or weeping eyes.
It's a very distinguished smell too. Cheesy doritoes. Which need antibiotics and sometimes steroids too , to clear it up. And quite often a medicated shampoo to relieve their skin.
I also don't believe in feeding my dogs any kind of dog meat. They are fed purely on kibble . Which also helps clean their teeth too.
I feed mine on carnilove , which is expensive. However , my 3 little amigos are in good health.
Happy tums. Happy bums . Clean ears , clean teeth . And (I'm touching wood πŸͺ΅)
Other than flea and wormer , I'm never at the vets.
I do give my dogs a probitic yoghurt cube every day too.
If you need me to send any links on food or the probiotic cubes I'm always more than happy to help.
I truly hope this post helps and is received in the right way.

Much love to you all ###

It's another soggy doggy day 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

A few tips on how to prevent your pooch from becoming matted. This is mainly curly coated dogs and those with a longer length.

TOWELS .
Quite often a towel is used to clear up mud and wet dogs. Please DO NOT vigorously rub your dog back and forth with a towel as this causes a huge amount of matts on your dogs coat. Instead blot the hair with a towel instead.
Then brush the coat through thoroughly.
Curly coats need to be brushed through as leaving them wet creates more matting.
If possible dry them with a hairdryer afterwards.

COATS .. its cold out , so we often opt to put a lovely snuggly , either fluffy lined or fleecy coat on our fur babies. However , this type of coat causes friction, which in turn ,matts the coat.
So again if you are going to use this type of coat, please brush your dog through thoroughly afterwards .

HARNESSES.
So many customers choose to put harnesses on their dogs ( it has to be said I am not a fan and I only use them for car journeys)
These are by far the biggest contributer to severely matted coats . The constant friction causes matting to the skin. Which cannot be brushed out . It has to be clipped out and severely short too. The wet weather trebles the friction . My best advice is not to use a harness , there is very little evidence on harnesses being more effective to reduce a dog pulling and they still push on the dogs windpipe.

BRUSHES & COMBS
it is absolutely vital that if you wish your dog to have a longer length coat. ( more than half an inch) that you brush them thoroughly , EVERYWHERE! Face, ears , tail. ESPECIALLY LEGS. . After using a slicker brush, please then go through your dogs coat with a metal greyhound comb. If you can't get the comb though, then you need to brush through again.

LONGER LENGTH HAIR.
Many of you say to me. Please can you not cut them short as they get cold.
This is perfectly fine, as long as your dog isn't matted, which cannot be brushed out. Only severely clipped short. So maintenance on your behalf is of a huge necessity to have a longer coat.
I would just like to mention, that your dog will get wetter and stays wet for longer with a longer coat. A short coat , dries quicker and doesn't get as dirty.

As a final note....

MATTED COATS ARE EXTREMELY PAINFUL FOR YOUR DOG.
you know that feeling of when your hair gets snaggled in your necklace and it pulls and hurts. That is how it feels to your dog when they are matted.
Matted coats also prevent blood flow, so when this area is shaved off. It tingles and itches as the blood flow is coming back to that area.

Prevention is better than cure ...
( the cure is a short shave off, which is unsightly and will leave your dog very cold)

I really hope these tips help.

Much love to you all.
