An emotional post that broke me last night, but Storm Dave has blown the clouds away and a blue sky has made the day brighter. Sat down to revise the post, deleted it by accident so have started again! Deary me!

I want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone that has been a part of The Pet Stop journey since opening in the town in centre 2021 when I was told I was mental to be opening a shop during COVID restrictions (probably was a bit of truth in that ha ha). There are too many people to thank, but amazing customers (two and four-legged), friends, family, support from other local businesses, landlords, people who I've been lucky enough to work with....the list could go on in Oscar winning speech stylee. The move to the new premises in January 2025 was one of my better ideas, but I'd have liked to have had more time there.

I'd like a special mention for the lovely Katie who has gone above and beyond since my treatment started back in October, I'd not have managed without her. She has helped massively whilst I tried to keep things running in the background (where I sometimes failed miserably). It may be bye from me but you'll still get to see this smiley face.

Some of you may already have met Lynette who has kindly been wo-manning the shop the last few Sundays so Katie could have some well deserved Sundays off. There will be very little changes during the transition with own brand foods still available, Millies Wolfheart, reserved items and special order items all still being catered for with some new additions.

A FAQ at the moment is, what will be stocked by the new owners?

The shop will continue current brands as normal, with only changes down the line being the introduction of additional brands / products.

So rest assured will still have our own brand dog and cat food, Millies Wolfheart (recipes will still be reserved), Wilsons, Skinners and special orders will also still be taken in for you. Raw will continue to be Durham Animal Feeds and North East Raw's Prime Raw.

Please if you have a gift voucher to be used could you do so before the end of March. Many thanks ๐Ÿค—

Happy Saturday to you all.

Thought I'd share a post to say it has been brought to my attention that incorrect information is circulating around Ellon town re The Pet Stop so thought would clarify.

* Yes there is a transfer of ownership taking place, hopefully finalising in April

* No The Pet Stop is not closed while this transfer takes place as the sale is currently going through the legal processes, which I'm sure we all know, can take some time.

The lovely Katie is still there to help you in the shop and I'm still in the background taking calls,, messages, buying and the general adminny stuff (not a word but you know what I mean ๐Ÿคฃ).

If the shop is to close during the transfer it won't be on my watch. So until everything is finalised we are very much open for business ๐Ÿค—.

It would be hugely appreciated if you can correct anyone tells you otherwise.

Firstly thank you so much for all your lovely and touching messages/comments following the last post. Apologies for not being able to reply to them all, but rest assured they were all read ๐Ÿค—.

I had decided to change shop opening to a 5 day week as Katie has been working her socks off and deserves more time off. However, one of the prospective new shop owners has kindly offered to cover Sundays. So from this Sunday onwards you will meet Lynnette when shadowing Katie this Sunday (1st March), and she will continue opening Sundays on her own until the transfer completes.

This will allow for a smoother transition in April and I'm sure you'll all make it as easy for her as possible, giving her a warm welcome.

๐ŸŽ‰ EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT - SHOP SALE UNDERWAY ๐ŸŽ‰

As you know things at The Pet Stop haven't gone to plan following my current health journey. This journey led to the decision to sell the shop to concentrate on recovery.

I can now confirm an offer has been accepted with final negotiations underway. All going to plan the shop will be under new ownership beginning of April ๐Ÿคž. (You may start to see some changes throughout March pre transfer so please bear with us).

A bit of a roller coaster year, and all I can really say at the moment is thank you so much for your support in getting The Pet Stop to where it is today, with so much more to come with new owners at the helm.

Also a massive public thank you to Katie for being so amazing the last few months, and am also grateful for your patience while I've tried to support her from home.

It's been a challenging start to the year with various factors causing supply and delivery issues.

Still a wee bit to go till we get back to normal but today was a good start with a deli order placed on 29th December finally arriving ๐ŸŽ‰. Should have some fuller shelves by the end of next week ๐Ÿ˜.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of demand for cat advent calendars again this Christmas there are some left which could be dismantled and used as treats. To avoid waste these will be given away to any customer that comes in and makes a cat product purchase.

Also a big thank you for all the generous donations made towards Ellon Feral Cats (Feeding/shelters) the box is overflowing. I would donate the calendars to this collection box but dismantling would be quite time consuming and I'm sure Niki & Co are busy enough without any extra work.
