St Teresa's Equestrian

St Teresa's Equestrian STE offers riding lessons as well as other activities such as Pony Days, Stable Management and more.

Please see the following the link to create an account https://st-teresas-equestrian.ecpro.co.uk/ STE is based on site at St Teresa's School and started up on 2015. We are open to riders of all ages and abilities, teaching in dressage and show jumping in our lovely 30x60m arena. We follow the same values as St Teresa’s School, including the belief that there is no ‘one size fits all’ and that indiv

iduals, both human and equine, should be treated as such. Our horses, our riders and our coaching staff are all unique in their backgrounds, skills and experience, and we take great care to fit the horse to the rider and coach appropriately. Operating 12 months of the year, 7 days a week: 6 days a week with the STE horses and ponies, and those with their own ponies stabled off-site may bring them to the school to use the facilities on Sundays. We run private and semi-private lessons all year round, and Pony Days and onsite competitions in the holidays. STE is a BHS approved riding school, as well as a Pony Club Centre and avid participants of the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association). LOOKING FOR LOAN HORSES

5* loan home offered for your much-loved pony or horse.
Preferably 8 years+, no upper age limit, and 13.2 hands to 16.2 hands that can comfortably take beginner/novice up to intermediate/advanced riders.
Suitable for school work, pole work and a steady calm jump (with our staff and more experienced students) at our beautiful riding school attached to St Teresa’s School, Effingham, near Dorking in the Surrey Hills.
We are BHS/ABRS approved and have a 5* council licence.
To have up to date vaccinations, dentistry, worming etc, recently fitted tack and rugs on arrival.
Will have a mutually agreed loan contract in place.
• Must be safe to ride and handle, enjoy working, and be sound.
• Lovely facilities including airy American Barn stabling and a well-maintained sand-and fibre (Combi-ride) 60m x 30m arena.
• Kind, qualified and experienced staff that manage and work the horses and ponies, incl. hacking, long reining, lungeing and schooling, with a high staff-to-horse ratio to allow for this.
• Qualified and experienced instructors to teach our students, usually in private lessons.
•Upper weight limit of 80 kgs.
• 365 days a year turnout, either day or night turnout as required, individually, in pairs, or small groups

• Regular visits from qualified professionals - saddler, chiropractor/physio, dentist, farrier and veterinary care such as vaccinations, worm testing and wormers at the riding school's cost.
Our ethos for our staff and students is that each horse's welfare always comes first; most quirks and individual
feed regimes can be accommodated, and we are happy to work closely with our owners to ensure that each horse is cared for as an individual.
The owners of our current horses will happily recommend us, as will our vet, physio, dentist, saddler and farrier.

We are looking for a new loan home for Oliver!
We are looking to loan him out as a companion.
He has been with us since 2021 and he has been a superstar but we feel he now needs to retire as whilst he is sound, being ridden will exacerbate pre-existing issues.

He is 12.3hh, 16 years old and comes with a full wardrobe. Full history provided and 6 month check in's from ourselves.

Please let us know if you can offer him a loving home.

Our NSEA team went to Hickstead on Friday to compete in the Hurst College Showjumping Championships; hundreds of young riders from schools across the country gathered for the opportunity to compete and gain qualification to ride on the hallowed turf of the international arena.
In this competition, the teams compete in preliminary rounds in the peripheral arenas in the morning and the top 10 teams qualify to jump in the finals in the afternoon in the international arena.

Junior Team
The junior team comprising of Electra B, Rosie C, Harriet L and Olivia S (photo 1) all rode extremely well in their 85cm rounds but stiff competition meant they did not unfortunately qualify for the finals.

Senior Team
The senior team comprising of Amber B, Chloe B, Izzy L and Jess R (photo 2) did amazingly jumping at 1M and came 3rd in the preliminary rounds, qualifying them for the finals in the International arena where they finished fourth, an absolutely outstanding result against the very best school teams in the country. We were certainly extremely proud of them as they took part in the finalists parade at the end! (photo 3)

NSEA 1.10 M Hickstead Elite Championships
In addition to the Hurst College Championships, Antonia S had also previously qualified to compete in the 1.10 m NSEA Hickstead Elite championships, the first class held in the international arena that day. It was a huge achievement to have qualified and Antonia and her horse Stormwatch did an amazing job round a big track. (photo 4 Antonia entering the international arena)

Both Antonia and our senior team qualified to ride in the international arena on Friday, which is amazing, all the girls were an absolute credit to the school; they and their horses were impeccably turned out, immaculately behaved and rode extremely well!!

Please join us in celebrating their successes.

Good Morning,

The school NSEA equestrian team have been busy competing and have finished half term with a whole host of fantastic results and qualifications in Dressage, Showjumping and the two disciplines which incorporate arena eventing; The Eventers Challenge and Jumping with Style.

On Saturday 15th February, we went to Parwood Equestrian centre to compete in the County and National Dressage Championships.

St Teresa's pink team consisting of Olivia S, Lilly S, Rosie C and Sophia S came third in the open team class ( photo 1).

Lilly S came second individually in the open preliminary class which crowned her Surrey County Champion and qualified her for the Inter-county Championships at Hickstead in May and also the NSEA National Championships at Addington in October. (Photo 2).

Rosie C came 6th individually in the Novice class.

On Sunday 16th February our Eventers Challenge team consisting of Electra B, Lilly S & Rosie C went to Coombelands Equestrian Centre and won their 80 cm class qualifying them for the NSEA Eventers Challenge Championships at Hickstead in May (photo 3)

On Sunday 23rd February we had teams at Felbridge Equestrian Centre competing in Show Jumping and Jumping with Style (JWS)classes.

The 70cm JWS team consisting of Electra B, Florence B and Olivia S came second (photo 4)

The 80 cm JWS team consisting of Lilly S, Rosie C and Olivia S won their class ( photo 5).

In addition, Olivia S also won it individually ( photo 6) and Lilly S came 4th.

Both of these teams ( and Olivia and Lilly individually) have qualified for the NSEA JWS National Championships in October.

The 80 cm Showjumping team consisting of Electra B, Harriet L, Olivia S and Rosie C came 4th and have qualified for the NSEA Plate Championships (photo 7)

The 90 cm Showjumping team consisting of Chloe B, Izzy L, Lilly S and Rosie C also came 4th and have qualified for the NSEA Plate Championships (photo 8)

Amber B then secured two individual second places in the 1M and 1.10 M classes qualifying her not only for for the NSEA National Championships but also the Hickstead Elite Championships in May ( photo 9)

Without doubt, an extremely successful half term for the equestrian team and we are so proud of what they have achieved.
