Delightful Brie the French Bulldog has been back with us for another stay. She is a very loving girl and just so much fun to have around. Who couldn’t love that face!

Dhugal the Golden Retriever timed it well on his holiday for the great weather! He managed a visit to a secure run free field and had an amazing time. He’s a gorgeous boy and clearly knows how to pose for the camera 😀

It was super to have Westie youngster Jamie and his older sibling Anna for a short holiday. They loved looking out the window for squirrels of which they saw many! Both were on their best behaviour and settled very well.

Bernie the Border Terrier has been back with us for another stay. Thanks to host Courtney for catching him so well in this gorgeous pic! He was on his best behaviour on his stay and we hope to see him again soon.

We always think it’s a great privilege to look after older dogs and we were delighted to see Ziva the Cockapoo for her recent holiday. Ziva is almost 13 years and is a delightful dog with great spirit but also independent. We look forward to seeing her again in June! It was lovely having Coco for her big holiday recently and to look after her in our own home. Coco is an older lady now but still with the spirit and energy of a youngster. She is such a happy and contented dog with a fascination for playing with dried up leaves it’s one of her favourite games. It was a pleasure to take care of her she is welcome back anytime!

We said goodbye on Friday to our wonderful host and good friend Chris. Chris died unexpectedly and so young at 50 on the 21st February. Chris loved dogs of all shapes and sizes and had a particular passion for spaniels. Ruby, Evie and Rufus were amongst his favourite Barking Mad dogs that he enjoyed hosting so much. Chris also looked after our own sheltie boys when we were aware on holiday and he was always in his element to take care of them. He was a beautiful person so kind and thoughtful and we’ll miss our extended tea breaks and lunches with Chris when we dropped off dogs and caught up on his news. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Lennie the Jack Russell has been with us for his two night trial stay. Host Jenny loved having him and said he was very well behaved. He’s a very good looking boy! We’re looking forward to seeing him again for his longer holiday later this year!

This is Pila our first Gordon Setter at Barking Mad Edinburgh. She was a delight to take care of. She did give us a little fright with a little medical emergency but recovered very quickly and is doing just great.
