I wanted to make this little walk-through video as this was my first walk with Twiggy in a while (due to the heat!) and she did amazing.

We’ve had some ups and downs on our previous walks but anyone who understands reactive dogs knows not everyday will be the same. Well, any day can be different when it comes to animals!

Twiggy did so well. We only did about 10 minutes around the area she lives as it had been so long since I last took her out. We encountered one lovely man who said how beautiful she was. I had created a lot of distance as Twiggy struggles with strangers, but I kept her focus on me using treats and marker words such as “nicely” and all she did was a little grumble. She’s getting so much better. It just takes time and patience with a dog like Twiggy. She is loved massively by her circle of people close to her, and I am lucky to be one of them. 💙

These boys have made MASSIVE progress this week! It was their first week that their mum had gone back to work so they were getting used to having more time alone. They were very unsure of me when I first met them and had some trial pop-ins the week prior.

As you can see from this video, we’ve made so much progress that they were comfortable enough to have a short nap next to me! It’s the best feeling in the world when you become a safe space for dogs (or any animal) that need a little more time and patience. 💙

Martha, Mable and Sophie had some walks last week. We were lucky to do some morning walks before it got a little warm! It was lovely to see them again ♡

I had some trial pop-ins with these little boys last week. They’ve both very wary of new people due to not having a good past. Luckily they are rescued and have such a loving home.

We made a lot of progress in just a few visits. At first they wouldn’t want to come near, but now they’re climbing all over me for cuddles! ♡

Lexi and Bluu had a walk in the woods on Monday when it was a little cooler.

They were very excited to see me after I had some time off, as was I! It’s one of my favourite parts of the job being greeted by lots of love, excitement and cuddles ☺️❤️

I want to share some extra bits i’ve been doing during my free time between clients this summer as animal care and rescue is very important to me.

I volunteer with a group that helps rescue gulls and this chick season has been busy but such an amazing experience to be able to help such misunderstood animals. I’ve also learnt a lot about gulls and when and what is best to be done in a range of different situations.

It’s now fledgling time so it’s common to see youngsters grounded as they learn to fly ☺️
